    The system files are corrupted...

Okay please bear with me as I am new at this and have only had my Wii console for about a month.

Here's the path to my current state:

    1. Discovered Twilight Hack and the HBC, so I did the install.
    2. Installed various apps, everything good so far.
    3. Next I downgraded my firmware to 3.2 as a recommended level for more functionality.
    4. Installed more apps including Starfall. Everything still good at this point.
    5. Discovered WiiSX (PS1 Emulator, not fully developed yet is my understanding), but I decided to install it.
    6. Installed Rev 46 with some luck, but the game i was trying to play would never get all the way booted.
    7. Tried to install Rev 57 and this is where I went too far...

Basically all I get now is "The system files are corrupted..." when booting the Wii

So at this point I remember installing Starfall and setting it to not accept updates. I also remember it can be somewhat of a recovery tool. So I boot and hold down the Y button on my GameCube controller. Then B + 2 to get a disc to load and a game to play.

However when I go to reboot after playing it's back to the system files are corrupted message.

Is there anything I can do?
Does this unit have to go back to Nintendo?
Have I voided my warranty by installing HBC?

    Thanks in advance...

Boot Starfall into the recovery mode and start homebrew wad manager and remove the last 2 wads you put on there.......
Have you used the search function ? used the Tutorial section ?

Did you know you can donate to help the running of this forum ?

Well that's part of my problem.

When I boot Starfall, all I get is 3.2 USA at the botton of the screen. No menu, etc...

I do know the last wad that caused the issue and would love to remove it, but I can't seem to get into recovery mode with Starfall.

Can you provide any further assistance or instructions regarding that mode ?

    Thanks

    .
i agree search is a wonderful thing, but i guess i haven't found how to get Starfall into recovery mode. Like I said my screen stops at USA 3.2 when pressing Y on the my gamecube controller and booting.

i don't know how to get to the menu.

The above link you provided is not the problem i am having, i can't get to the system menu to start HBC, etc.... I can't get anywhere...

After reading some more, I believe what I have is a "Banner Brick" or "Full Brick" condition...

I am guessing that Starfall may not be working correctly as no menu comes up so I don't know if that is correct or not???

    i am confused

i believe i found the answer as to how I can unbrick the banner brick...

This youtube video shows me exactly what to do....

i just need to go rent Zelda again tomorrow... Hell, I probably should just buy Zelda Twilight Princess.

So later today I will give this a try...

well now i remember doing something that is gonna cause me further headaches...

i filled up system memory once and while cleaning it up, i deleted the twilight princess hack. this is now preventing me from using the game to rebuild the system files and get my menu back.

so at this point i don't know what to do.

does anyone know if the SaveMii card would help (my wii is soft midded)?

should i buy another wii and wait for BootMii to fix this console and then sell it on ebay or craigslist?

or should i take my chances with Nintendo on a repair?

of course if anyone else has any ideas how to fix this "Banner Brick" please speak up...

    Thanks
