Installed It All, Still Can't Load Backups. Help?

Okay, at my wits end here. I can't seem to get a backed-up game to play. Here is what I have done:

    1. Installed Homebrew using the Twilight Hack
    2. Downloaded and place these files on my SD card: cios_fix.wad, IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad, and WAD MANAGER V3.wad.
    3. Installed the IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad file through Homebrew
    4. Installed the cios_fix.wad file through Homebrew
    5. Ran the IOS downgrader through Homebrew
    6. Installed Shop IOS51 through Homebrew
    7. Installed WAD MANAGER V3.wad through Homebrew via the Wad Manager
    8. Downgraded my firmware from 3.4U to 3.2U through Homebrew (didn't have to, but did anyway)
    9. Installed and ran Starfall to prevent system updates.

Everything seems to be working okay, except for actually loading backed up games! I used Wii Dumper to backup my Lego Indiana Jones via my network and it worked great. I verified that the .iso was the correct size of 4.37 GB (4,699,979,776 bytes) and burned it with Imgburn at 1X, with THREE different media types: Verbatim DVD-R, Sony DVD-R, and Verbatim DVD+R. I've popped the different discs in the Wii and have tried to us both the Gecko 1.07 and the Wii Gator .3 gamma Backup Launchers through Homebrew with no luck. With Gator, the screen goes black and the Wii just sits there and tries to read the disc for a very long time. With Gecko, it states: Error, no DVD, a green screen briefly flashes and I'm booted back to the Wii menu. What am I doing wrong? How can I get the backup to load? Please help. Thanks.

    e.g. cIOS249 fixs read failure

    why steps 5 & 8, repeated ?

Possible bad dump of game? Can you take the burnt discs you have to someone else you know that has either a modchip or softmod and verify that they dont work there either???

    Hi :-)

I have the same issue too. Installed it all, hombrews on. I then downgraded form 3.4e to 3.2e because i thought that was the problem. Backup launcher does the same for me now.

I suppose i need to know a game that definately works..... Can someone help me who knows a game that works on this setup, so i can rule the game out, Now i have several genuine games, but not the facility to back them up yet, so i can grab an image of a game (NZB) that i already own from somewhere, thats confirmed working.

    Can someone PM me.

EDIT: Just realised its not that hard to back my games up, i assumed it was, might try that

    Many thanks.

I used this guide... then downgraded.

    Step 1 - Preparation
Before you embark on your quest to soft mod your console, you'll need the following -

    A Wii Console
Legend of Zelda - Twilight Princess (Wii Version!)
An SD Memory card (anything from 32Mb up to 2GB)
    An SD card reader

First of all, download this file
    backuplauncher_0.3_gamma.zip
and extract it to your HD.

Format your SD card in the FAT format. Copy the contents of the "backuplauncher_0.3_gamma" directory to the root of the SD card

    __________________________________________________ ___________________________________

Step 2 - Installing the Twilight hack

Put your SD card into your Wii.

1)Now, Start by playing Zelda if you haven't already and save the game. For some reason you are unable to copy over a save game unless you've played it before. So play, save, exit to Wii menu.

Open up the data management screen and delete your newly created save game. Then, whilst still in data management open up your SD card and copy the correct "twiglight hack" save game for your region onto your Wii.
    rzdp = Europe
    rzdj = Asia
    rzde = USA
(Note - some Wii's won't see the save game. If this is the case, whack the SD back in the PC, find the data.bin file, right click and then tick the archive bit).

Once the save is transferred, load Zelda again, and load the twilight hack save game. When it loads, run forward and speak to the man infront of you. This will now proceed with the installation of the homebrew channel (as you put that in the root of your SD card, right?).

Now you have the homebrew channel as a permanent fixture on your Wii desktop.

    Installing the loader

Open the homebrew channel, and open the CIOS installer. This needs the wii to be connected to the internet (wireless or wired) as it downloads the required files. Once installed (takes around 5-10 minutes) you can run the Backup Loader but you don't want to have to go into the Homebrew channel every time you want to load a backup so read on.Source: Digital Kaos Installing the Backup Loader Hack -

    __________________________________________________ ____________________________________

    Installing the Backup Loader channel

Open the Homebrew Channel and load the WAD manager.
    Press A
    Then A again
Now select the BackupChannel_0.3.wad and press +
    Press A to confirm installation.

I ended up finding another guide while I was waiting for the response here and discovered that I missed this step:

+Run cIOS Installer in Homebrew Channel.
This installs the IOS needed by the launcher
    .

I can now load backed up games! Thank you again for your help. I ended up installing the Gamma Launcher Channel and am able to run backups straight from there. You know, all these guides out there tell you WHAT to do, but they never explain WHAT these file are actually doing to your Wii while you install them. Can you guys help with this? For instance:

Why install the IOS16-64-v257.wad file and what does it do?
Why install the cios_fix.wad file and what does it do?
I installed the IOS downgrader, but why? What does it do?
    Why install the Shop IOS51?
What does installing the cIOS36_rev7-Installer.dol do?
I understand why I installed the WAD Manager (to run WADS from a channel) but was it necessary?

Understanding why we do things will go a long way. Thanks

Games with language selection not loading correctly.

    Hi there guys.
I have an LU65 console. I installed backup launcher and neogamma through HBC. However, some games just don't load up correctly. I mean, they do load, but with some sort of flickering on the screen that makes it impossible to play. I have noticed that the ones that do that are only the games in which you have to select a language. Like: harry potter HBP, lego ind jones, lego batman, Monopoly, etc. Games that are just in english load up without problems.
Any ideas on how to fix that?
