Rock Band 2 sd card/dlc/backup launcher gamma

I am having a problem with Rock Band 2 being able to save DLC onto the sd card and read that i am not the only one and that the backup launcher was to blame.

My question is. Has anyone found a fix for this so DLC can be saved over to the sd card when the tracks are downloaded. I ask because I have limited space left on the wii and it wont let me save anymore than 2 songs on it. That and you cant have two more of the same save types on an sd card.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

i am not understanding the question.

I am noticing though that the problem isnt with just rock band 2. But also with animal crossing. Any time the game tries to move something from the console to the sd card it doesnt work. Like I said I am trying to see though if anyone found a fix for this or not.

You might have to make space on your Wii, go into you Memory Manager and make some room, I think the Save game for RB2 is 200spaces then extra space for everything you download. And I'm guessing your SD card has enough space also

I have both games you mention and I have no problems with DLC

other than that I don't have an answer but someone with more skill and knowledge might

i just got rid of a few things to free up space and tried it again and when I donwload a song it still stays on the wii and doesnt transfer over to the sd card.

Can you use data manager to tranfer the file to the sd card that way?

    Just an idea.

you can do that. but as i stated in the first post the wii only allows one type of each save file on the system/sd card. so if i copy it over once. then I will have to delete that file to copy over the new one which defeates the purpose because then i wont have the songs i deleted.

I as well have this problem, only I used USB loader GX (same issue using any usb loader, or gamma as well)

I have 536 block free on wii currently, and 14,926 on my SD (Non-HC, it's 2GB)

The game says it's copying them to the SD card, but nothing ever gets moved (though it says it worked). If I look in the data manager, or on my sd card reader, there is still nothing on the SD card. I can move them manually in the data manager, and it works fine.

Problem being, if you have say 523 blocks of songs, which you manually moved to the SD, once you download a new songs, it seems to put a new WHOLE backup of the songs on your wii memory again. thus, you have 523 blocks on your wii taken up now, giving you 13 free blocks when it tries to add the song you just purchased. this doesn't work obviously. and it says you dont have enough blocks. (And you think WTF I just cleared 536 blocks, and my SD has PLENTY of space!)

So basically the rockband 2 says the SD card is working, but is in fact just ignoring it completely. You can force it to use it, but as soon as youa dd something, it moves everything to the wii memory and starts over there, forcing itself to run out of space.

    HALP!

Specs: Wii 4.0U, Homebrew Channel installed, USB Loader GX r549, cIOS38 v13a. Running Rockband 2 in cIOS 249 mode (default setting).

I have exactly the same issue - can't get DLC to the SD card unless I do it manually; and then I can only have so much because it refuses to download anymore to where the DLC was moved...

I'm using USB Loader GX under Hermes' cIOS 223. I have system menu 4.0.

Glad to see I'm not the only one with this problem...but it doesn't seem like there's a fix out there...

Interesting note: I have two Rockband DLC files in my wii system memory, one is 1465 blocks, the other is 129. They have both changed size as I've downloaded songs. Curious...
