Semi Bricked my Wii - Installed Japanese firmware on NTSC Wii

    Ok, the details

    1) Wii with 3.3 firmware and D2Sun v3 + Switch + Presoldered Clip V12b modchip installed
    2) Tried to play a japanese game, and it prompted me to install update
    3) Update installed, i guess i have 3.4J as my firmware? japanese channels installed
    4) Can't access the Wii Setting (opera help prompted)

So i did some research, loaded gecko os, and tried to make it load this:
Semi-brick fix discs for all three regions (updated) to fix it - didnt work. code dump error.

Tried to downgrade firmware via this:
    wehackwii / News

    i read from this FAQ:
    http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...ricks-mad.html

"out of region: update from a region that isnt yours, this will disable your settings, and have dupe channels, just update in your region"

how do i update in my region if i cant get to settings?

Update- I tried to play animal crossing and it said wii system update. I updated it i hopes that it would override the Japanese firmware, but it did nothing.

How in the world can I get rid of this 3.4 "J" or whatever firmware it is since I can't access the Wii Settings?

but it failed since i can't connect to the internet. I do have a wireless router, but i cant get into the settings to change the settings

Hey thanks for the reply, but I tried everything from that faq:

    SEMI BRICK

    * IOS: sometimes if you install the wrong one, or too many that it conflects, it may cause you to no longer be able to do some features, just uninstall
    * out of region: update from a region that isnt yours, this will disable your settings, and have dupe channels, just update in your region
    * Patch: sometimes some patchs conflict and cause you to lose some features, just uninstall

Not sure how to remedy this region brick....if only i had the internet working

Sorry but the browser uses the internet setting that you have already set

You may have to use "savemii"

i saw taht you can get lan adapters for the WII, but since i cant select "wired connection" its not going to work, right?

from now on, u've no luck to hook internet until u obtain a game disc with newer version than what had been installed.
    pray for 3.5u.

[edit: what game did u injected to make it 3.4J ? ]

Here are a few ideas to try. Try holding down + and - while pressing A at the health warning screen this will let you into maintence mode. When my Wii kept freezing within 5 seconds this is what saved me. It allowed me to do most things including play all games and homebrew. If this works just run Custom ios downgrader ( I belive this is the name) It will allow you to downgrade to any firmware you like including 3.4u. If this doens't work if you can launch any game make or download an autoboot disc with either the custom ios downgrader or anyregion. These will allow you to change you firnware to what ever you want as well. I'm not sure about the internet issue. I couldn't get online in maintence mode but my homebrew could. I also belive it is possible to find the source files you need for thses programs and you can load them onto the sd card.
    Good luck.
