    Unhappy Backups not Working Anymore

I successfully got the homebrew channel a month ago and have been increasing my library of backup games lately. They all worked fine and are on HP DVD-R 16x and Verbatim DVD-R 16x burnt at 4x.

However, today I was playing my back-up for Excite Truck and eventually stopped. Once I came back to my Wii and went to play another one of my working back-ups, I got the DVD Read Error 324. I then tried my other games and they had the same problem. I uninstalled the Back-up Launcher Gamma and then re-installed its Cios and then it again.

I still have the error for all six of my back-ups and they were all burnt at different times.

    I have 3.2u.

Also, my original Wii games work so it isn't the Wii's laser.

Please help me with this problem!

Are you saying that every once in a while we have to reburn our backups or are you saying that because of degradation he has to reburn all the games?

Retail disks are pressed NOT burned.
Think of it similar to printing photographs........... the ink in your printed photo's fades with time, and the ink on the disks does the same thing.
My guess is that the 6 disks with problems were all stored together....... direct sunlight massively shortens the life of printed disks.
IF JC-Gamer has not done anything to the os of the Wii, by any means ( installing wads / playing one of the later games - without blocking updates etc.)
    What's your guess ??

So if he kept all his burned ISO DVDs in a folder with no sun/light contact he wouldn't have to reburn right?

    Who knows ???

WHY do you think there are so many posts asking for which is the best medium to burn ?
It's all based around the dyes used to make the disks......... experiment yourself - Burn one and leave it burnt side up on your windowsill and let us know what YOU discover eh?

The OP said he had not altered ANYTHING so,
When there is only one answer to your question remaining - do you think it right to question that answer ? OR burn another disk & try it out ?............ for 50c I think I would have reburned a disk before asking the question

I just re-read that and it didn't read how I meant it to .................
I remember some quote that says however unlikely the answer sounds, when it is the only thing remaining it has to be right ;-)
