Question regarding bricking the Wii after menu change

I have a US Wii, used the region changer to change it to 3.2E and am now wondering whether playing US games will brick my Wii if I don't use Starfall to block the US upgrades?

Just want to make sure whether the region changes really changed the US Wii into a European Wii and from now on US games will brick my Wii and European ones are safe?

How can I tell whether my Wii is bricked or semi-bricked?

I tried finding answers to this on the board, but couldn't find anything.

I'm pretty sure your wii is now completely Pal.
Your wii is semi-bricked if you cannot access your wii settings
It is bricked if when you open your wii all you get is a black screen.

    thanks for replying this fast.
I had a f-up with my homebrew channel and had to completely delete it. my menu still says 3.2E, but I just tried loading the Wii sports (US) that came with the Wii in the normal disc channel and it totally loads and works and doesn't brick. is that cos the installed stuff from the homebrew channel is still active? I have the blocking installed from Starfall among others.

I don't have a PAL game disc that is not burnt so can't try whether the disc channel would also load that one. Is everything back to factory settings other than my menu or why can I load US games in the disc channel without bricking?

Is there a way to reset it completely back to how I got it?

    Homebrew is a program
    Starfall is a program
    Gamma is a program
Downgrading to 3.2 is a permanent system change ( unless you upgrade )

Hence, if you deleted Homebrew, the others remain active on your system

what would happen if I formatted the Wii? Would that return it back to the original version(s)? undo the programs still being in place?

If you format the memory - kaboom - everything's gone and it's back to the lowest system memory just as is was when you first purchased it...

Not according to the information I have..........
Formatting the Wii ONLY clears the volatile memory ......... in other words WADS.
It does not affect the non volatile memory in other words the operating system at all

so formatting it after having changed the region to E would not affect the region change at all? did I understand that correctly?

it would only get rid of all my installed programs and then trying to load one of my US games would semi-brick my (now European) Wii?

how come I can load US games in the disc channel now that my Wii is changed to european? can you in general load all kind of region games if they don't contain an update function that would brick your wii? or can you always just play the games in the disc channel that have the same region as your wii? cos, like I said, I changed my Wii to European and played US games in the disc channel. I'm a bit confused about this issue now.
