Thread: Is the internet absolutely required to install the Homebrew channel + stuff?

I'm on 56k here...what a shame. Still I have a router and tried to bridge the 56k connection without success. Do you really need a internet connection to downgrade+install homebrew channel? Can I just download stuff on wiibrew dot org and ready everything on the SD card?

And, as last resort, is there a way to bridge 56k on a router?

I found out how to bridge a 56k dial-up connection on a wireless router! I'm soo happy all my problems are solved now I can start to hack!

After doing this tutorial, then for the Wii I entered those options:

Auto uptain IP address = NO

Advanced options:
IP address : 192.168.000.002 (the last .2 could be a different number you choose but max 254)
Subnet mask : 255.255.255.000
Default router: 192.168.000.001

Auto uptain DNS = NO
Advanced options :
Primary DNS: 192.168.000.001
Secondary DNS: 000.000.000.000

Should work!
