USB Loader GX crashes when I select my USB hard drive

I followed the FAT32 tutorial, giving the new drive 32kb clusters. I used Wii Backup manager to put 2 games on it. USB Loader GX says it isn't formatted. But Windows says it is. When I click "Select" and I click on my volume (on the Wii) the Wii crashes with a black screen with white text, and it gives some memory dump message. Then shuts off.

What should I do?! It's a new drive, with nothing else on it. It's a WD Passport, right off the compatibility list.

Did you follow the "Softmod ANY Wii" guide? Mentioning the FAT32 tutorial/guide is commendable, but giving no additional background information is insufficient to diagnose whatever's ailing your Wii. So you put Wii games on it? Gamecube games? What?

WOW! I'm sorry. Let me address your questions.

The Wii is soft-modded. I soft modded it before I discovered your forums, so I did not use your "SoftMod any Wii" guide. Does that matter? I have the loaders installed, and they seem to work, just not with my USB drive. I was installing 2 Wii games. Not GameCube games, (though that is my next step.)

Home-brew channel is installed. I have WiiFlow, NeoGamma, USB Loader GX, and LoadMii installed. I am able to play DVD backups without an issue as well as load anything I want off the SD card. Interestingly, WiiFlow is able to copy my discs to the USB hard drive, but nothing can see the things that are on the drive.

The short of it: yes, it matters. We support our own guides and each relies on the other along with following the specific guide mentioned ("Softmod ANY Wii"). You say this drive is on the compatible list and it very likely is. Being you did NOT follow our softmod guide, you're essentially asking us to "clean up your mess," lol.

Let me put it to you this way. You can post a SysCheck (both the program and directions on how to do so can be found HERE) and that will give us an idea as to the integrity or completeness of your softmod. Then we can go from there.

I appreciate your attention, and I'll post the SysCheck later tonight.

    EDIT:

I placed the SysCheck in the appropriate thread. Thank you again.
