Just finished softmod, cant load games

    Hey guys,
so i just finished the last part of mauifrog's tutorial, everything worked and the new channels/apps are on there. I tested a 8gb flash drive to "test" if the usb loaders work. First, I formatted the flashdrive to FAT32 and, even though its an 8gb flashdrive and the game (Newer Super Mario Bros) was only 4.4 GB, my computer said it couldnt fit on disk. So I formatted to NTSF and copied the .ISO file. I used both USB loaders with both not reading any games....It read the flashdrive, as it told me how much total memory 8GB and how much free 3.7GB, but it read no games. Anyone???
    Thanks!
I know, this confirms my newbie-ness!

See the FAT32 and NTFS guides linked in my signature for proper ways to install games to USB devices. Neither of them will tell you to just copy the .iso file to it (FAT32 has a limitation of 4gig per file, which is why the 4.4 gig file wouldn't fit. But "proper" installation will still have the game playable on FAT32, which is recommended as it is the most compatible.

Hey, Thanks for the answer. I'm gonna do that in a minute but I just had another question pop up. On a single usb mass storage, can I have games in different formats? or do they all need to be FAT32/NNTFS?

Few Wii apps can handle multiple partitions. to make things easier in the long run, I would recommend you format the entire drive as FAT32 for the most compatibility, as one active, primary (aka not-logical) partition.

    I'd recommend that you don't.

Unless you know your system is an older one (launch through sometime in 2008), then it can use backup media with the right app to read them. If it's a newer one (sometime in 2008 or later), then it can't read backup media no matter what you do to it, other than transplant the DVD drive with that of an older system).

Well, in that case, how would I get all my games onto a USB mass storage? Is there a way I can do it from my computer to the external hard drive. A friend gave me several of his old BURNED games, like backup copies.

Since you are broadcasting it all over the internet, you might as well put on a big red cape that says "I steal stuff and am trying to get help with it from Wiihacks.com" and then go run around your local police precinct.

    Yeah, thanks for that......
