using wii through a adhoc ap, xp 7 vista

    Hey guys/girls,

Im trying to downgrade my wii, im stuck just after the below

+Load Wad Manager in Homebrew Channel and
    Done this one
    install IOS16-64-v257-prod.wad
Yes, even if you have received errors trying to install other wads this should still work.
But this one fails Edit: i have now done this bit so i defo need a internet connection now!!
+Load Custom WM in Homebrew Channel and install cios_fix.wad
You cannot install this wad with Wad Manager. This is a custom wad manager designed to work for IOS16.

Does the cios_fix.wad need the internet?
As im unable to get my wii to connect to any pc ad hoc ap that i make it sees the computer asks for the wep key then doesnt connect, ive tried it using hotspot software on my nokia n95, windows xp sp3 and vista 64, all do the connection test and fail?

I will be getting a router on the 2nd when my bb gets installed but is there a more immediate way to get it online?

    cheers

try to find a public place to do it =P it might sound stupid but a lot of people at the college on the weekends would hook up Various videogame systems, and the place had good wifi, so its quite doable

you could also get a lan adapter

I have an inverter, USB composite input for laptop to display the wii screen to take it to a hotspot but they use open access with a login page! Does anyone know why the wii won't connect to a computer acting as an access point?

This is more than likely going to be a Windows access error NOT the Wii ;-)
It is also possible to brick the Wii if the internet connection drops out ........... I would urge you to have patience UNTIL you get your router set up
