    Updating issues and formatting.

Hello, I have wii version 4.3U, but when I go to the cd channel, it asks me to update. I know that that'd brick my wii, but what do I do about it? Recently, I installed an app to install Cios 249 and 250, and I think 236 as well. I can play games off gecko, but I wanna use the disc channel. Also, I'd like to format my wii especially, but I'm not sure how to format due to those cios programs installed. Can anyone tell me how to format it?

    Oh so confused lol...

You cant play backups from the disc channel unless you have darkcorp installed, which we do not recommend. Disc loading has gone the way of the dinosaurs as well, usb loading is recommended.

To get everything up to date and stop the update prompts you need to follow all of the instructions in the Softmod ANY Wii Guide, link is below in my sig.

Regarding formatting, why do you want to do that?

Well, it literally won't play any CD games. And I have the USB loader GX app, but it constantly crashes. And for formatting, I'm gonna be putting my Wii away in a storage, or I might give it to someone. They won't know how to do it. Can you explain what I can do to format it?

You do realize that formatting it does not return it to stock, correct? All formatting will do is erase your channels and game saves. The old defunct mod will still be there, as well as your inoperable disc channel. Are you talking about removing the mod all together?

I thought formatting would do that... And also, I can't use the USB loader, because it constantly gives me a black error screen when opening it. When I first downloaded it and the Cios programs, it worked fine, but then, the game didn't work. I read something else to fix it, something about changing the cios to use, and now it constantly crashes. I'm afraid I'm close to bricking it, and not sure what step to follow on the internet to fix it.
