oh right. Sry. I was not thinking.
But after installing d2x, I tried some games with USB Loader GX:
    - Tetris Pary took very long to get to the profile select screen (after apparently freezing)
    - Hoto Heroz froze at the starting screen.

I think it might worth mentioning: I did NOT re-dump my nand after installing d2x. But AFAIK, the softmod any Wii guide installs d2x, am I right? If so, it should be on my Emunand anyway, since I re-dumped it earlyier this year after updating my softmod.

Well, thats not why I am here anyway. Nand emulation works for me ATM. And the homebrew issue seems to remain rather mysterious. If you are out of ideas, I will not scold you for calling it a day.

So I took some time to try out nearly all homebrew games on Wiibrew. You can find my results in the attached .txt file.
Most games loaded from SD, while many games (~30%) did not boot from USB.

I have to admit that 2 of 2 tested SD cards worked (both 2GB). One is from Sandisk (can be used to install HBC), the other one is noname. So either did I fail to properly test the homebrew games in the past, or installing d2x did really do the trick for me, although I have replaced the d2x one in IOS slot 249 with cIOS v17 to run triiforce v7.

Anyway, my problem is solved for the most part. Though I would bear with some homebrew games crashing, I doupt that thatotherdev released games which fail to boot, too.

If you want to read the attached .txt, here is what means what:
"good" are games which I want to keep
"bad" are games which I will delete
    almost everything else: game crashed
I also tried all good games off USB. All games which crashed are listed in the last section.
The second section contains the games I downloaded with homebrew browser and therefore tested only off USB.
