black wii, can I still play gc tittles somehow?

my wii has no game cube ports >.> so um.. how do I play the games? is there a hack or something to do it or does nintendo already include that functionality into the os with some sort of inbuilt conversion software for button and stick inputs? can not find any info on this anywhere, Just ordered a great old gc rpg and want desperately to play it, I don't have a very good pc so dolphin really isn't an option >.<

If you had asked this question last week, our answer would have been "can't be done, but it's being worked on ..."

Just released earlier this week, the newest version of Devolution allows Wii U Pro Controller, Classic Controller, and PS3 controller support so you can play GameCube games on a system without Gamecube ports.

Search for the Devolution guide for more information on how to set that up.

It is strongly theorized that this will work but as far as I have seen it has not been verified that anyone has actually tried this.

I think there may be 2 seperate kinds, but if your wii simple spits the gamecube game back out when you put it in it was discovered that it is a small mechanical modification to the drive that causes this. By bending a piece of metal or some other modification detailed on a thread on another site the wii was able to accept gamecube discs and run them nativeley just like a regular backward compatible wii I believe. Unfotunately no gamecube controller support made this worthless. Better than modifying your drive though you should be able to find a 3 inch disc adapter online. You insert a gamecube disc in to the adapter and it will now appear to the wii as full sized disc and will not be spit back out.

As llaffer mentioned Devolution is a gamecube USB loader that only a few days ago added alternative controller support. Devolution has built in Anti-piracy protection so will need to have working gamecube retail games to use it, You must insert the real disc one time in order to verify it before devolution will run it (for your wii the gamecube game will need to be in the disc adapter in order to do this).

I would recommend getting a disc adapter if you have one of the supported controllers and following SNES masters Devolution guide(http://www.wiihacks.com/other-faq-gu...games-wii.html). It would be nice to have confirmation this works if you would post your results.

I'm in the process of adding several things to the guide, one of which is how to play games on a non GC Wii (including Wii U). If you need any help though feel free to ask in said guide and I'll try my best to help you get it working.
