    Changing Wii region?

I have a problem getting out of region vc wads to work. tried changing the the region to free with free the wads and applying region free channels in priiloader without luck. I'm using a pal wii with up to date softmod using the softmod any wii guide. now I'm thinking if I could change the Wii region to us I could run the wads. what do you think, is this a good idea and how can I do it? thnx!!!

VC are directly downloaded to your Wii's NAND. They are bought from the SC. You should not have an out of region VC as a wad. Also, yes you can physically change your Wii's region but I'd not do it for this reason.

Best option would be to install the wad to an emulated nand, then load it with a loader using region patches. There are many options for that these days, I don't know much up to day info. But you can load most wiiware/vc from emulated nand, and apply any needed region patches on the fly without changing the settings on your wii, just like loading out of region wii games.
I am thinking triiforce, but the is old. AFAIK, you can do it from usbloader gx, wiiflow, postloader, sneek/uneek/etc. Many options. Most likely you have an issue with the language of the wad, or the video. Probably the language, if the wad does not support the wii language it can hang. Possibly the video, but not likely as most pal tv support ntsc.

Don't forget, you need the ios installed for such wad, but you knew that. Emulation would use cios, so ios is not used or relevant. Install the full d2x cios set and setup emulated nand on usb, try loading with compatible loader, wiiflow, gx (I don't know).

And try not to sound like a pirate.
    Ipsa scientia potestas est.

Warning: Piracy is NOT supported. Word your questions carefully.

ok, thanks for the answer. I own a mountain of classic games, but for technical reasons I keep them in the attic, the wife isn't too keen on having all that stuff in the living room. the virtual console is one of the best ways to have everything in one place. why I use ntsc/us wads is because pal gaming sucks big time, it's slow and letterboxed. can't believe nintendo didn't fix this for the virtual console..
