ShowMiiWads - Change a WAD to install to a different slot

I'm trying to get Majora's Mask to play with EmuNand. So far, USBLoader GX gets the black screen after the spinning "N". Mighty Channels has the same, but this is the d2x thing, and Mighty Channels won't work with the Hermes stuff, which I have installed on the 22# slots.I read on a post on another forum where Majora's Mask will work, but requires Waninoko's CIOS38 rev17 installed. Which sounds just fine to me. Except the installer is trying to force me to install on IOS249, which I'm not willing to do.One poster in that forum said Mighty Channels + rev17 worked fine on IOS252, which is what I'm trying to get it installed on. The only problem is I don't know how.From what it said, ShowMiiWads can be used to change the IOS slot a wad is installed to. I just don't know how to set that up with SMW. And that the installer app may need to be tweaked in order to point to 252 instead of 249.Can someone help me? I really love Majora's Mask, but it takes way too much NAND space to keep it on my Wii. And the only alternative is to use Wii64.

You're confused, lol. That cIOS38 Rev 17? That goes in slot #249. That being said, nowadays wiihacks recommends a different base for that slot and a much-newer cIOS than Wani's. Have you followed our "Softmod ANY Wii Guide"?

Well, my Wii was softmodded back in Jan/Feb of last year. Since I received it, however, I have upgraded the installation to D2X v8 in the 249/250 slots, and Hermes 5.1 in the 222/223/224 slots. Which I use for my Wii games.

This is primarily just for running the VC game, Majora's Mask. Which runs fine on my Wii, but takes up too many blocks. I used ShowMiiWads to install it to the EmuNand on my SD card. In USBLoader GX, it shows up fine, but blacks out after the spinning "N". In Mighty Channels, it does the same thing.

The culprit here is having d2x installed in the 249 slot.

tmv_josue says that that will work, especially with Mighty Channels, the app I'm trying to use, since UGX requires a d2x cIOS to work with EmuNand, which effectively disables Majora Mask from working.

There is another post about using ShowMiiWads to edit a WAD to change which IOS it is installed to. But I can't for the life of me find it now, only a few hours after reading it.

Anyway, that's why I came here to post and look for help. Mighty Channels won't work with Hermes, so only the d2x slots function for it at present. If I can, I'd like to change the cIOS 38 to install to 252, since nothing else I have uses that, and I could then set MC to load with ios 252 in it's argument. And with luck it would allow me to play Majora's Mask.

Of course, if anyone knows another way to bypass the black screen and can get MM working in EmuNand, I'd be happy to go with that option instead. ;-)

Its pretty simple to change the slot an IOS is installed to. Simply select the wad in showmiiwads, right click and select Change IOS Slot, then type in the slot you want to install that wad to. Dont forget to rename the wad to reflect the correct slot (just so that you dont get it confused with any others)

Well, the 252/rev17 was a bust. Apparently the poster was misinformed, as MC informed me that wanin's cios was unsupported.

I have had some success after a few more hours of searching. I've since downloaded and installed uLoader 5.1e, and deleted/reinstalled Majora's Mask via it's feature. After a bit of searching and selecting Skip Boot in the options for MM, it worked successfully. :-)

Now I'm deliberating whether to rename my console FrankenWii, given all of the apps and modifications on it.

Install the d2x cios for all base ios into slot245-250. This would be done via chapter 2 of the softmod any wii guide. Then instead of 249/250, try 245-248.

Probably 246 would work.
