I Can't Do Anything Like a Descriptive Thread Title For Instance

I've had all the worst luck when it comes to homebrew applications. I have a problem with my song cache on Rock Band 3 which must be reset. Only problem is I can't reset it without deleting mstore.vff in the title folder. I'm on a real NAND so this is much more difficult to do than if it were emulated NAND. I found FSToolbox which sounded like the correct solution. The problem with that is that all it could do is update itself, fail, then vanish from the Homebrew Channel's sight. The .dol and .elf files are still in their correct place.
Another solution I attempted was to backup the save and take out the file from there, but I can't dump saves either because the application I used gives a random uninformative error. I also have a game and NAND dump of my stuff to test on Dolphin since it's supposed to be able to emulate the NAND and most importantly, the song cache, but even that didn't work.

So basically, everything I wanted to do doesn't work because nothing works. :(

Well for starters, how do I get FSToolbox to run? It's seemingly vanished and I can't run it anymore. If I can get that working, everything should be fine from there on.

When fstoolbox loads, do not choose to update it. It should work without issue. You must select which ios to load fstoolbox on, the ios must have es-identify, like a patched cios36 or a base cios38. Once that loads you can only dump files from nand and replace files on nand, you can not delete or add anything new.

As for dumping savegames, savegame manager should do the trick, but you may need to install a base 36 or 38 cios into slot 249 to make it work properly. Not sure if it needs es-identify or not, probably.

Okay, that was the problem I was having. It said I don't have es-identify but I don't know what cIOSes I have installed with what on them. It's a very specific combination to get Rock Band 3 to run properly which is why I haven't dabbled much into it.
FSToolbox didn't make much sense at first because it shows me the controls, then says the 1 button updates and backs up NAND, so it updated.

cios236 should work with fstoolbox.

How do I force it to use that cIOS? Or more importantly, how do I get it to show up in the homebrew channel again?

Install it to the SD card again. When the app loads, you choose which cios to load, 249 is the default, change it.

Just so you know, this can brick your Wii should you do something wrong.

Got it all figured out with llaffer on the IRC. I reinstalled hacks on my Wii but I think the trick was to have just the boot.dol file in the directory. After that, I had the option to choose IOSes where 238 did the trick.
