    Question wii drive date and ability to play dvd backup discs or movies

    Hi I have 2 wii's which i would like to know if they are dvd playable / compatible

    1.) my first wii (letterbomb softmod) chipset is (according to wii drive chip database)Your drive most likely has the following chipset:
    • There is a 50% chance the chipset is GC2-D2B with cut pins and missing third pad.
    • And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-DMS.
    • Lastly, a 25% chance the chipset is GC2-D2B with cut pins.

    2.) my second wii ( non modded ) chipset is (according to wii drive chip database) Your drive most likely has the following chipset:

    • There is a 75% chance the chipset is GC2-D3-2 (v2) with no drive chip.
    • And there is also a 25% chance the chipset is GC2R-D2A.


    Any help would be appreciated thanks.
    P.S. I dont know how to get rid of this yellow hi-light

    With what you've shown, Wii #1 likely will play DVDs, Wii #2 will not play DVDs.
