Edit WAD files of VC titles possible?

    Hello!

I have a little problem with some VC titles on my Wii.

I use the European firmware 3.2E but normally use my Wii set to NTSC mainly because of a few Japanese games which I can't use when my Wii is set to PAL.

To avoid having always to switch between PAL and NTSC I try now to replace all my PAL games (normal Wii games and VC games) with NTSC versions.

This works fine so far but I have slight problems with a few VC titles, the general information in the preview are missing, here a picture I took from my tv:

The problem seems to be there because my Wii is set to German language which you can choose when you have a European firmware. I guess that in the VC game the developers can enter different infoarmation for different regions and in some NTSC games they just didn't enter custom or just normal information for German systems as they were never intended to be used on a European Wii anyway.

I can fix this by setting my Wii to English but would prefer too keep it set to my native language and wonder, if there is a way to edit the titles when I have them as WAD files on my computer. Can I open them and edit there somehow a file and add the information?

Thanks for every suggestion and greetings!

you got a injected game, dont use them, they have a higher chance of bricking your wii, and older ones are quite messed up

    Thanks for the fast reply

I am pretty sure that this is not an injected version of Super Mario Bros. 3. Even though this one doesn't come directly from the Wii Shop (I did buy the PAL version before and didn't want to pay for the same game again) the manual for example works and looks like the one in the PAL version before.
Also I don't have this problem only with Mario 3 and games I install myself, I did buy Kirbys Adventure from the North American Wii Shop (I switched to the NA Shop a while ago with AnyRegion Changer before Nintendo prevented this) and it has the same problem.

I guess that my theory is correct, some VC games from the North American Wii Shop just don't come with a title to display, when the Wii is set to a language which is not supported by a Wii from North America (which I think only support English, French and Spanish).

So I just wonder now, if there is a way to add these information yourself, can you edit WAD files? So far I only found a program called Wadtool to decrypt/encrypt WAD files, which seems to work, however I end up having a couple of *.des files and have no idea what to do with them ;-)

    Thanks and greetings!

A youre wrong, because i can install Japanese wads, and it will have the Katakana, and Hiragana, in it
B why would Japanese be supported on a english wii, but not german, or spanish, or that
C older injected games, were made poorly with such ways
D why would you be the first to post this in atleast 3 months -,_-,

As I said, I don't have this problem with all VC titles, so far just with some. I can only guess that games which have this problem support specific titles/information for different languages and some others maybe just have one "universal" title that displays fine on all Wii systems.

Well, then Nintendo injected Kirbys Adventure which I bought in the NA Wii Shop in the same poor way?

How should I know, maybe many people just don't care as long as the games run fine.

I really did get it from the store and I was talking about this as a little problem from the start, so I can live with this, I just thought it couldn't hurt to ask, if there is anybody out there, who maybe knows a way to fix this by yourself.
There are so many things you can do now on the Wii with the channels (dumping them, making your own, decrypting and encrypting the WAD files...) so I just thought there might be a chance, if not it is also fine.

What do you mean by games in black and white, are you talking about incompatibilities between NTSC and PAL? I remember having no color in games a long time ago when I imported my first NTSC machine (a PC-Engine from Japan) and fixed this by getting a new tv which supported also NTSC and not just PAL. Maybe the same could of course happen on the Wii with VC titles from different regions.
