Question FTP Server for Wii? Suggestions?

I have a question for you all.

I've been using Wii Explorer's FTP server for a while, and found it to be a little flaky. Transfers are very slow (100kB/s, where I would expect to get 1mB/s or more, since it's just LAN traffic over wireless) and unstable (I have to stop and restart the server and reconnect on the client often if I am transferring many files over).

Is there a "good" FTP server out there for Wii? Are the problems I'm having due to the software being a crappy server or due to the hardware being a crappy server, and there's not much I can do about it?

    Thanks.

The only other one that I know of is FTPii, but it's pretty outdated. In my experience, WiiXplorer's server is a lot better. The only real suggestion I have is make sure you're using the latest version. R212 is the latest stable, but there are some betas as well that you could try (R241 was the latest last I checked).

Thanks. Looks like I've got r210. I'll update and see if that helps.

Main reason I'm asking now, is the new hard drive that I have on the Wii requires external power (the old one didn't), so it is now more difficult to move the hard drive to the computer. I'd like to rely on FTP to do that.

Or is there a homebrew app that will create a mountable share to my PC, so I can go through that way?

Yeah, I can see that being a pain. And the only thing that would allow you to mount the drive would be mounting it over FTP (using CurlFtpFS on GNU/Linux, not sure about other operating systems). But since FTP isn't really working that well, that's probably not a great option.

I upgraded to the latest beta version and copied a few files from my SD and USB to my system. There is a definate speed improvement.

Still not as fast as I would hope, but I'm downloading from the server at around 600kB/s. When my download is complete, I'll reupload it to see if the upload speed is any different.

EDIT: Well, downloading from the USB works nice. But uploading to the USB is horrible. It starts out at the same slower speed, locks up just as often, and when I click on "shutdown FTP" to reset it, the app locks up.

So this is far from a viable option for me.

Well, I don't have any other suggestions. Sorry about that.
