Weird GensplusGX splash screen - FAT initialized!

This so called splash screen, for lack of better words, is pretty annoying. It appears after I load GenPlusGX. Once the splash screen goes away, GensPlusGX loads just fine, and emulation is perfect. I just find the splash screen to be very annoying. I'm hoping someone might be able to tell me what I need to do to make it go away. Is there an IOS I'm missing? A setting I need to change? Thank you everyone for your responses.

Are you loading from a forwarder, full channel or HBC?

I do believe I'm loading from a channel. It's a wad file that I have installed on the Wii's homescreen. It takes 9 blocks. When I load this channel, it looks for the GensPlusGX dol, gives me the screen mentioned above, and then runs the GensPlusGX emulator.

I'm not quite sure as to what the difference between a forwarder and a full channel is.

When I load from HBC, I do not get the aforementioned screen.

From a channel that is normal, it's because the channel loads from the Wii memory but the app is on SD.

Forwarder is a channel on the Wii that loads a boot.dol from the SD card

Full channel is all on the Wii.

It sounds like both the Channel and Forwarder are stored in Wii memory and look for the dol file on the SD card. If that is the case, I'm still not sure what the difference is between the two. BTW, thanks for the help.

Think of a forwarder like a shortcut on a PC. Lets say you have iTunes installed to your PC and you make a shortcut on your desktop. When you click that shortcut it loads the program but the program isn't really on your desktop, it's actually stored somewhere else, the shortcut just tells your comp where to find the actual app.

Now with a FULL channel it's all from the same location, so the channel and boot.dol are both installed on the Wii rather than 1 on the Wii and 1 on SD. This means if you install something as a full channel you can use that app without your SD being in the Wii because the app is on the Wii.

Recap: forwarder = shortcut to the app on SD

FULL = all Wii, no SD

Makes sense now! Dunno how I didn't put it together before. Sounds like I need GensPlusGX full channel. I imagine this will come in the form of a WAD file. Is there perhaps one you can recommend that has version 1.6 and above?

Yup, a full channel will not display that message, and your also correct about it coming in a wad file. Unfortunately I don't know where you can get one

I am planning on creating and uploading my own channels for Genesis Plus GX, FCE Ultra GX, SNES9X GX and Visual Boy Advance GX using Virtual Console games banners as templates but I can't give an ETA on when I'll have them ready.

That sounds awesome. You should consider doing Frodo and WiiEngine as well. Thanks for all your info!

Hi, SNES_Master. I was just curious to see if you have uploaded any of your channels? Cheers, mate.
