I found this wad SystemMenu-v289-NTSCU and converted it to iso file then burned it. I have the drive with the modchip . I installed and read and states incorrect disc inserted.
Is there something I am missing?
How do I change the first bytes changed to RAAE? Where is the HMI's installer.log file.?

I believe you open up the ISO with it and just change the ID. Just a note before you go on, nobody here has dealt with this before (that I know of). As a result, we don't know exactly what we're doing either. DOP-Mii is a dangerous tool meant to be used by experienced modders. You could very easily end up with a Wii that doesn't work anyway. Also, are you sure that the Wii is NTSC-U? If not, there are other versions of the autoboot disk for PAL and NTSC-J.

Yes, I am sure it is a ntsc-U version. I tried changing the id to RAAE but it requires 6 characters. Thanks for all your help but I am still lost. Maybe I am in over my head? I have soft modded many systems but know nothing about programming. I thought somebody could point toward a few files and I could fix this. Thanks again

Fill in the two blanks with zeros. So RAAE00. Also, as long as you're comfortable with modding a Wii, you shouldn't have too much trouble with DOP-Mii. Just be careful and pay attention to what you're doing.

OK, if you really have this wii, that is really cool. Not many of those. If can be fix, so no worry there. But, I really would like the nand backup from it, I would have fun messing with it. So if your willing, burn this-
    prelaunch-BLIND-ios4.zip

Burn it good and proper with imgburn on good media nice and slow.

You will need a modchip installed on the wii, it does not need to be configured. Also, your going to need a gc controller as we can not sync wiimote ATM.

    Here is the plan-
load wiimod via disc, install bootmii ios, and make a nand backup. Then we will install everything else needed.

It is your wii, and you can do as you like with it, but lets get that nand backup of the prelaunch wii. That would be nice to have.

Hopefully this disc loads, not sure, it should but...
Let me know how it goes, if it does not work I will give you another. You may need a few disc, but in the end this wii will get hacked, should not be much trouble.

Let me know if that disc loads, gives wrong disc error, or black screens on you.

I'm thinking you're burning the wrong file. Earlier in the thread you mentioned converting a WAD into an ISO, but the correct file will already be an ISO. Anyway, follow maui's instructions. He's the expert at fixing Wiis, so he's certainly your best bet.

Also, I did manage to find a copy of (what I'm pretty sure are) those semi-brick fix disks. I can upload them with the ID changed if that becomes necessary.

Ok, I am burning the image at 2.4 on verbatim dvd-r and I have my 3rd party Gamecube controller ready.

I will gladly backup the nand for you that is the least I can do for you. I just want to make sure I do it right. The nands you want can be made thru bootmii once the Wii is up and running?

Update: Here is were I am at.
Sorry but I don't want to mess this up. Which should I pick next

Load the disc and this screen popped up

Thanks for your input. I couldn't find the iso just a wad file that I convert to an iso which was probably the problem. I am trying mauifrog directions now and will post updates. Thanks again for your help.
