Wii messed up, need help - ios 222/223/249 issues
I have a softmodded wii, which I followed a tutorial on here i'd say about 2 years ago or so. The wii was running perfectly. I was using configurable usb loader, and had it running perfectly with themes, covers, etc. It was installed as a channel, and all covers, games, etc....were on an SD card.
About a year ago, I decided to try the then-current version of DIOS MIOS lite, so I can try to run GC off of SD. Why? Well, I was curious, and just wanted to see it work.
However, it killed the configurable usb loader. Would no longer work. I was able to get USB loader gx to work, but figured i'd try to fix whatever issues I caused when I had time.
Then, I moved. Boxed up the wii, and it sat in the box until today. Today, I decided to unbox it, hook it back up, and see if I could get it working. I cannot.
Before I moved, configurable usb loader would load, just no more covers, and would not read the games. Now, I get the dreaded custom ios 222 is a stub, please reinstall error.
NOTHING happened between then and now. It sat in a box.
So, I read a few tutorials. Tried to use dop mii to uninstall, dop mii will not load. Black screen.
Tried to use the hermes ios 222 installer followed the instructions. No difference. Still gives the error.
FINALLY got dop mii to load, and it says ios 222, 223, and 249 are all stubs. Despite using the hermer loader to reload them.
At this point, i'm lost. I OBVIOUSLY screwed it up royally when I messed with the dml install. What did I do, and how do I fix it?
Unfortunately, the original softmod was a LONG time ago, so I couldn't even point you tot he one I used. For some reason, a picture of a frog, or a name having something to do with a frog, comes to mind?
Also, again, since the dml installed that screwed it up was a year ago, I cannot remember what I did then either. It has completely changed since then, and seems VERY different from what I did.
Anyway, the Wii is on 4.2u and the version of configurable USB loader is v60-222
All I want is for it to work again.
If you all can help me fix it, step by step, I would be GREATLY in your debt.
Pulled it out today because my kids wanted to play the wii on christmas, and they were greatly disappointed when it didn't work. Wife isn't happy about it either, as it was their wii. Oops.
Anyway, i'm not good at this wii stuff, very complicated, so a step-by-step would be very helpful.
Thanks, and happy holidays!
