    Lightbulb Wii softmod from 3.1E

    Hello,

I have just obtained a second hand Wii with system menu 3.1E. My goal is to make it possible to play backups.
I put BannerBomb and BootMii on an SD Card and installed both. I apparently am lucky to be able to install BootMii as boot2.

So now I have this installed, what are the next steps to achieve the goal of being able to play backups?
I was unable to find a clear guide for this situation, where BootMii is installed as boot2 on a 3.1E system.

Do I need to do reintroduce the Trucha Bug ?
Or can I skip this since I'm on 3.1E ?
Then how do I proceed ?

    Thanks for your suggestions.

Thanks dniMretsaM, I tried and I am stuck in Chapter 2, Part 1- Wad installs. I have WiiMod 3.2 on the SD card but it won't load from HomeBrew Channel. When I select WiiMod in HBC and press "Start" I see in a flash a dialog with loading bar, it goes so fast I can't see or read what it is and then I get a black screen and nothing works anymore. I reboot and try again but it stays the same.

I've done a SysCheck and here's the log of that:

    Spoiler

    Any advice?

You need to start in Chapter 1, Softmods with Homebrew Channel Installed. It will install IOS58 then reinstall the HBC so that it runs on IOS58. Then everything should work.

Hi, I managed to get all WADs installed with WAD Manager and MMM. Then I completed the rest of the guide. I even updated the System Menu to 4.1E (using MMM instead of WiiMod).

    So my question now is:

Is it safe now, after all I've done to start the guide over from scratch? Or should I remove (clean up) things first?

Something is still wrong, I tried to load a VC WAD today (Installed with MMM) and the channels appear in the Wii Menu but when I run them the Wii freezes on a black screen.
I will try USB Loader tomorrow, I'm waiting on a USB drive.

Where did you get said WAD? We don't support copyright infringement on this site.
