Question Boot.dol doesn't load. What should I do?

Hello, I have a 3.1U Wii with a Modchip. I've been following the Softmod Any Wii Guide http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...d-any-wii.html and then came a problem.

Download WiiMod-58-61_Hackmii_1.1.0_BB1.zip, Extract file to sd:\
alternate BBv1 files-B, C, D, E- If the boot.dol does not load, try these, just extract to sd:\
-Go to wii settings- data managment- channels- SD- Load the boot.dol
    -WiiMod will load
When I select 'Yes' to load the boot.dol, the screen turns black and stays that way. I left the console on, just in case, but nothing happened.
I've used the four options of BBv1 files in there and some more available on the bannerbomb site. Same thing.

Someone knows how to solve this?

    Thank you.

Go ahead and do an official update to 4.3. Then follow the ANY Wii guide.

I thought that by doing this I would no longer be able to do softmods in general. To upgrade to 4.3 all I need is to go on the wii menu and follow the steps, right? And what about my Modchip? I don't know what Modchip is. There will be no conflicts?

That indeed used to be the case, but now that letterbomb and wilbrand are out, you can softmod ANY Wii, hence the title of the guide...lol. Go ahead and update via the system menu. Then follow the instructions in the any wii guide using letterbomb to launch the hackmii installer. Follow the guide thoroughly and you will be all set!

Thank you. I'm doing the update right now, but I can't say I'm not a little bit nervous hahaha I've tried a lot of tutorials but always something have gone wrong. I really hope this works out. Thank you, again.

Understandable why you're nervous. There's a ton of info about the Wii out there. A lot is dated though. Hell, this thread may not apply 6 months from now lol! But at this point in time anyways you are doing the right thing

Hahahaha you're right. I hope this helps anyone who's having the same doubt. The ANY Wii guide worked perfectly, after the update.
Can I ask you another question? If I set up a connection for the Channels (News, Forecast and Wii Shop), there will be any problems with the software that I just installed?
