Wii remotes suddenly stopped working. Please advise.

I have 4.3 U Wii - I followed the Softmod ANY Wii guide to the letter. Everything was going fine, games were playing etc, then I tried to play Mario Kart Wii from USB HDD and the second Wii remote would not work, so I rebooted the Wii and the second remote still would not work. Then after another boot the other remote stopped working. Both remotes light up fine, but they will not sync with the Wii at all. I have tried every sync remote tutorial at least 5 times. I have no Gamecube controllers and I'm not sure how to proceed. I thought it would be best to ask for help now, rather than mess something up and ask later.

I will provide any further information needed. I do have the bootmii backups saved to my PC as outlined by the guide.


I would really appreciate some help, as I do not have a lot of free time to investigate how to fix this. Thanks for reading.

Just both (or all) wiimotes out of sync ? And the Wii console display ok? SystemMenu shown fine ?
Replace with new batteries in the remotes. Still problem?....... Check the power supply.

It was both remotes, but thankfully they decided to magically sync up this morning no problem (red buttons sync method). It's odd because I had tried variations of that method probably 20 times last night, including unplugging all peripherals etc. The menu was showing fine. I have done nothing except the Softmod ANY Wii tutorial, and I don't plan on trying anything fancy, I will play it very safe.

I'm still curious what caused the problem in the first place! But I'll be deleting Mario Kart Wii for sure though, ha.

Sometimes, unplug the power supply for 10 minutes. Give it a break ! :D
