Ok, so I've been having a huge amount of trouble getting SNEEK/UNEEK to work with the +DI thing using an extracted dump of my real NAND which I dumped and extracted using BootMii and ShowMiiWads. I confirmed I've gotten standard SNEEK and UNEEK running but only on a "clean" NAND I made using ModMii. I have not yet tried +DI on a clean NAND. Anytime I have tried to use my extracted NAND with UNEEK or SNEEK with +DI I get a "no signal" screen on my TV (let it sit for 30min and it never changed). Then it occurred to me, ModMii, along with the guide I followed, warned that SNEEK/UNEEK may not "play nice" with Priiloader which is indeed installed on my extracted NAND.
So here is my question (sorry for taking so long to get to it but I feel some background info was needed), how can I remove Priiloader from my extracted NAND? I don't see it listed by ShowMiiWads (unless it is installed as an IOS)...in any case ShowMiiWads just doesn't tell me where it is...can someone help me here? If you know which file structure it's in perhaps I can just delete it manually.
Thanks to anyone who can provide me an answer, I'll pass the knowledge on to anyone else that needs help with this too :)
If you aren't using neek2o - (USB/SD):/title/00000001/00000002/Content/, there will be 100000XX.app and a 000000XX.app ( X = number )
to remove Priiloader, just remove 000000XX.app and rename 100000XX.app to 000000XX.app
If you are using neek2o, (USB/SD:/nands/%firmware foldername%/title/00000001/00000002/Content/ .
I'm still very new to the whole SNEEK/UNEEK thing, what is neek2o?
Edit: After looking up neek2o I'm more confused, is this part of SNEEK/UNEEK or is it it's own separate thing? From some of what I read on it it almost sounds as if it's a modded version of SNEEK, but some one reading I did makes it sound as if it is used in conjunction with SNEEK and that they work together...
The SNEEK/UNEEK guide I read says I have to extract my game ISOs and place them in root/games/gameid_folder for them to work, otherwise UNEEK+DI will not even boot but when doing it that way it still didn't boot :(
Now the neek2o info I found says they should be as root/games/gameid_folder/game.wbfs...is that just for neek2o that they can be WBFS or does SNEEK/UNEEK use WBFS too?
Sorry to be so inquisitive but it's the only way I'll learn.
I'm pretty sure that neek2o is a mod or an add-on that gives you a bunch of features like
- the ability to load a .wbfs formatted game off a FAT32 drive/sd ( completely optional )
- can have more than one emulated nands in your installation
- USB access granted for homebrew
- Can run without an SD card inserted ( never tried )
- DM/DML/Quadforce support
- 3TB and up storage device support
ModMii automatically installs this to the firmware you build, but I choose to build my own firmware usng SNEEKYInstaller now, not a huge fan of it.
but yeah, the DI module won't work if there isn't a game in ROOT:/games/GAMEID/, I could try to describe my installation process in more detail if you'd like.
If you could that might be helpful, are there any requirements for adding and game such as extracting with DiscEX or anything? Or can I just use a WBFS file made by Wii Backup Manager?
If you choose not to use neek2o, the game MUST be in the DiscEx format, if you do, and I'm not completely sure on this since I've never really bothered with .wbfs, but you should be able to use it for this.
I kinda have to go for now though, sorry, I'll have the steps I followed right from step 1 for you tomorrow.
Oh my God....I was right, that damn Priiloader was the problem!!!! I now have UNEEK+DI working...at least the menu anyway. Next step, getting it to read games and trying out neek2o :)
1,000,000 thanks for your help :)
This is the perfect set up for my or any Wii!
It would be nice if it ran as smoothly as the real menu though but still awesome.
Glad you were able to get it working, if you need anything for installing games to it, just let me know !
I think my favorite feature is the fact that I can install pretty much any channel without fear of screwing the actual firmware up.
The reason for it not being as smooth or as fast is because drive access is slower than internal storage
Yes true. Now, neek2o is supposed to also have "Press 1, Press +" settings menu right? I get the menu but for some reason it doesn't let me access settings by pressing +...in fact it doesn't even tell me "press + for settings"
I like neek2o cause I can store the NAND in a subfolder and use WBFS games. I can't really mess with it too much now as I have to go to work but I will experiment later tonight :)
And yes, worry free wad installing is epic! Lol, especially since I've been getting pretty into creating my own channels...not from scratch but still. I'm now working on VC style GameCube banners for use in USB Loader GX :)
Huh, have you tried accessing settings using a GC controller ? It works for me using the Wiimote, but it's worth a shot.
Is there a font.bin in the sneek folder ?
