Isn't DIOS MIOS for USB support?

I installed DIOS MIOS 2.4 and have all of the necessary things to load GC backups. (FAT32 w/ 32KB clusters, DM-ified GC ISO, etc). Now, when ever I try to start a GC ISO via USB Loader GX, a message pops up saying "This game is on USB. Do you want to copy it to SD?".

    What's the deal?

    Thanks,
    Shane.

You either have a outdated USB loader or an outdated forwarder.

Try launching USB Loader from the HBC and see if the message still persist. If so you need to find USB Loader GX r1200 or higher.

Yeah, actually I just updated mine to v3 yesterday from the site and loaded my F-Zero original disc to the HDD and then tried loading it and I got the same message. It will install the disc to HDD and display it in the list, but to play it, the program must copy to SD. I was not aware of this being the issue when I installed it at first. But I can't seem to find anything that says so one way or another.

Look up USB Loader GX r1203, launch it from the HBC and let me know if it works. If you can't find it I can hunt down the link and paste it here for you

It just prefer not to do that...takes a bit of time on my iPhone lol.

No problem glad to help, also if you find a game playing glitchy in DM (perhaps no music), you should also check out Devolution. It's a second GC USB loader and it can be used with in conjunction with DM to double the compatibility of your games.

Sounds good. I am hoping the majority of my originals work. I really would like to put my collection on my USB. I'd probably play them more if they were as easily accessible as my Wii games. They seem to copy faster too for being smaller! Haha!

On a side note, any disadvantage to running my APPS folder on my USB instead of my SD now?

Not that I know of, but you may want to make the apps (such as emulators) save data and stuff to your sd card if you can. If your drive goes into sleep mode while data is trying to write to it it may corrupt. Sadly I know from experience as VBA GX did that to me...now I make all my apps save to SD.

No problem, it sucked having recover my data and re-rip the games and movies that were too far gone.
