Us Multiple errors a week after softmodding my Wii

Hello everyone. I want to thank you in advance for your assistance. I used maulfrog's excellent guide to softmod my son's Wii with no problems. It is a version 4.3u and one of the old ones that I was able to install bootmii to boot2 on. Some other version info...I have HBC version 1.1.0 running IOS58 v24.32. A week after doing this, I can not get anything to run. When I try to load Netflix or Hulu I get "An error has occurred. Press the Eject button, remove the Game Disc, and turn off the power to the console." When I try to load a game from my USB HDD with USB Loader GX 3.0 I get either the above error or "An error has occurred. Error #001, unauthorized device has been detected." If I try to load them with Configurable USB Loader I get "IOS Reload: Blocked." I saw these errors mentioned throughout the forum but not all at once. After 2.5 hours of searching I am hoping one of you can help me. Thanks again.

What happens when you load the shop channel, news, weather, etc? What happens when you load a retail game disc from the disc channel?

When I try to load the News Channel it says it is downloading and then goes to a black screen. If I try to load the Shop Channel I get the "An error has occurred." message. The Weather Channel actually loaded but it only stayed up for a few seconds before going back to the black screen. The Photo Channel also gives me the "An error has occurred." message. I can not load a game in the disc drive as it is not working right now. I hope this helps.

Your wii's dvd drive has probably gone bad and needs to be replaced with a functional one. You could try building a new nand, but I doubt it will work and it is likely a hardware issue related to a bad dvd drive.

    Code:
    nandbincheck nand.bin -all -vv
Then restore the new nand.bin to the wii with bootmii. That will give you a clean 4.3 system menu, just softmod it. giantpune's Nand Tools.zip

The DVD drive has been messed up since before I softmodded it. Do you have any other ideas about it? I definitely remembered to da a nand backup before I completed the softmod per your guide. And, as I said earlier, I was able to install bootmii on boot2. Interestingly enough, I went through bootmii to try to restore my backup nand and it told me that it was for a different wii.

Your Wii will not work with a broken DVD drive, almost everything will give you error. Replace the drive and the issue should resolve.

That's pretty wild. It has worked this whole time with a bad drive. Wonder why it stopped working now?
