    Priiloader problems

Well i am stuck in Priiloader. When i get to the menu screen (when you turn on the Wii while holding the reset button) i try to move so that i can select the system menu hack. I cannot move down to select that. Pressing every button on my remote doesn't do anything. Thinking that it might not be synched, i just turn it back off, start it off normally, and re-sync it. So i turn of the wii, turn it on while holding the reset to get on to the white menu screen. And i still cant move. The wii is one of the newer black ones, so i doesn't have the ports for gamecube controllers. What can i do?
Is PriiLoader that important. Can i skip that step and not suffer to much. Ive already hacke a wii using the ModMii method, and this didn't happen. Everything went smoothly.

Priiloader is probably the most important step of the guide. It has saved lots of Wiis from being a doorstop, or a paper weight.

I would suggest finding an older Wiimote, without motion plus built in. Maybe borrow one from a friend or something, just to get that step done.

i actually was using both from my old one, and the newer one and i could not move at all. Now you got me feeling nervous.....

Thank you so much. Found out what was the problem. One thing to note while using the Modmii method as aposed to the ones described in this site, this site mentions how to start off. In it it mentions to makes sure no extra stuff is connected. One thing the Modmii steps don't talk about. After going into one of the links you had, and reading some of the steps, i noticed it said to remove all usb devices. That was the problem. So i want to thank you for your help. You probably want to scold me and say that i should have looked there in the first place huh? lol
oh and one more thing, what do you mean by it saves wiis from being bricked. Isn't that what botmii is for and making a NANDA back up? I know, im still going to check out the links you have, but im just curious.

Priiloader has actually saved more Wiis than bootmii has. Since newer Wiis can only install bootmii as an IOS, instead of as boot2. It is not recommended to restore your nand if you only have bootmii installed as an IOS. I have heard it can cause problems.

So this makes priiloader really important to Wiis that don't have bootmii as boot2. See you can boot into priiloader before the system menu boots. You can do this with boot2 bootmii also. So if you brick, you should be able to go into priiloader, then get to the homebrew channel. From there you can resoftmod, uninstall the bad wad, etc....
If you turned on your Wii and only saw a black screen, and only have bootmii as an IOS, you would not be able to open bootmii to restore your nand. Since you need to get to the homebrew channel to access it.

Anyway. Glad to see you got it working.
