Issues with GX Loader black screen.

A friend of ours (no longer) set up our wii for us around 3 years ago.
It worked really well for ages and then someone messed it up and the games were all swiped and gx loader kept coming up with a black screen.

I don't know what was done to the wii in the first place to make it run the way it did and I can only assume that it was softmodded. It has the HOMEBREW channel and the GX loader channel.

Since then the hard drive has been swiped and left sitting.

I would really like to be able to get it working like it used to but I'm not even sure where to start.

I was following one tutorial that got me partitioning the HDD, which I did. And then running WBFS. I then formatted it using the WBFS like the tutorial stated. Tried it on the Wii and I didn't get anything other than the black screen after starting up GX Loader.

    Any help would be great.
    Thanks

    Spoiler

Okay so I followed that as best as I could haha. Is it just going to be easier to soft mod it all over again. Not that I have any idea where to start with that. Tutorial I assume. Do I just delete all the of the stuff on the SD card? Or will that mess it all?

    Thanks for your time.

I was just looking at then. Do I just follow that one part nd then follow the hard drive tutorial? Because mine has nothing on it at the moment. Thanks for your help.
