Black Screen after game loads in USB Loader GX

    Hello Wii Hacks Community.

I know the title of my thread seems redundant but before you jump at me for not reading forum posts before starting a new thread please allow me to explain my issue.

I have a softmodded Wii versions 4.3 U. I installed homebrew channel and Wii flow originally. However, Wiiflow did NOT work the first time i used it so i tried a different USB loader, USB Loader GX v 3.0. Initially everything worked fine. I was able to format my Sony 4GB USB key to FAT32 and load up backups in wbfs format and everything played smoothly. My Sony USB key was only 4GB big so I decided to purchase a larger USB key from Centon-32 GB. I loaded up my games and initially everything played perfectly on USB Loader GX. However, I tried adding NEW games onto the Centon key and all of a sudden the games will no longer play. I tried reformatting to FAT32 and still no success. I doubled checked to make sure my key was compatible- I'm using the and according to this source "http://wiki.gbatemp.net/wiki/USB_Devices_Compatibility_List ", I am in the clear. I did some research on your forums and found several people having similar problems with USB loader Gx blacking out and returning to the Wii menu after the game is loaded. One forum post suggested installing d2x cIOS v7 Final which I did and still no success. What was weird is that when i insert the OLD Sony 4GB key into my Wii everything works fine. The problem seems to be with the new 32GB key which no longer works. I suspected some sort of "cache file" was preventing me from using the new stick so I pulled out my memory card and looked into the USB Loader folder found a couple of cache files which I deleted. Reinserted my card and the 32 Gb stick with my games on it and still no success. I went back found a new USB loader called Config USB loader and tried to installing and using the stick and same problem.

IF anyone can help me out with my problem that would be much appreciated. I really don't like using my 4GB USB, it hardly stores any games!

Did you use a partition managing program to format? Might want to use one such as easeus, and make sure there are no other hidden partitions.

    Hey cJizzle.

In order to format my stick I used Disk Utility for Mac OSx ( please do not run away just because I own a Mac ) It is the basic software which comes with Mac OSX and I used the same program to format the original 4GB which is working fine. I am posting a system check. Perhaps this can help wit ha diagnosis?

D2x v8 has caused a few usb compatibility issues. You could try updating to the v9 betas. TBH I have never been a fan of usb sticks. They tend to be a lot more problematic than HDDs from my experience.

I still stand by my original thought of making sure your stick is formatted correctly. If it is, try deleting the gxglobal.cfg file from your apps/usbloader_gx folder and rerun GX. If still no luck try the v9 betas.

I wasn't aware there was a version 9. Would you mind linking me to the download? Also I tried deleting the cfg file and no such luck Will try reformatting with Eusus.
