Any USB Loader either freezing or not loading at all.

    Hi all,

I have a rather confusing issue to me. I used Mauifrog's guide to softmod any Wii for virtually any Wii that I have ever modded. Always works fine and I commend anyone who has worked with him to provide that kind of information to us. However on this one particular Wii, regardless of whatever loader I use it just freezes either mid game or doesn't load at all. I know it's not the hard drive because it has been tested on 3 other Wii systems using the same method. I can maybe play around 5-20 minutes of a game before it freezing. And I was playing Skyward Sword on another Wii with the same hard drive for a couple hours with no problems at all.

    Here is the whole setup:
-Wii System on 4.1U formally on 4.3U.
-1TB Seagate Goflex USB 3.0 (Now working on USB 2.0 adapter because of known issues with 3.0)
-Mauifrog's guide to softmod any wii, latest version.

I just can't see what I'm missing. Any help is always greatly appreciated!

Does it happen to be one of those newer Wii's with no GC ports?

What the hell? They actually make Wii's without Gamecube support? Now that's just plain mean.

Anyway no it's one of the older ones with the Gamecube ports still available.

You say you were playing with the same drive on another Wii...meaning THE same drive, or the same model of drive?

Also, do both Wii's have the same cIOS, or does one have newer versions?

Sorry I didn't clarify earlier. I used the same Hard drive that I was using with the problematic one with no errors whatsoever. To my knowledge both Wii systems have the same drive, and modified in the same way with Mauifrog's "Softmod Any Wii" guide. I have not modified the Cios in any way. I do have another system that I added Cios numbers to via the Rock Guide. But even that worked perfectly.

The ANY Wii guide has been updated numerous times. I was more getting at asking if they were all modded at the same time. If not, you could have different cIOS in each Wii. Depends on when you modded them...

Oh. Well I modded this problematic one maybe 2-3 days ago. Apparently there was some kind of Cios pack update which I remember downloading. As for the one working well, I just did it today. Do you think it may be my Cios? And is there any way to do this without Formatting the entire system?

Formatting rarely helps anything, and it will not change anything having to do with your IOS or cIOS. HDD compatibility varies between different versions of d2x from what I have seen. You may want to try a different version. Post a syscheck from your problematic Wii so we can see what version of d2x you have.
