    Black Screen when loading game with usb loader gx (before strap screen)

    OK, so, i've got softmod 4.3u, everything works FINE when i use my 8gb wbfs formatted usb-stick, but i'm getting a black screen when i try to play a game with usb loader gx using my 500gb hitachi simple drive hdd (also wbfs formatted). there's no strap screen, as soon as i hit play the screen goes black and i have to power cycle.

    i've checked the compatibility list and the list says the hdd should work without problems.

    i've tried a few things i've seen on this site:

    looking for updates for, AND reinstalling usb loader gx, cios, ios236
    reformatting and re-loading the files onto the drive
    hooking the hdd up while usb loader gx says waiting for slow device
    setting to force NTSC
    setting the error 002 protection thing to yes

    is there something i'm missing? i'm at wit's end, any help would be deeply appreciated, otherwise i foresee a long fall from a tall building in my wii's near future.

    edit: Also, the wbfs is the only partition on the hdd so it's primary and active

    The games in question are NTSC, the same as my console.

    Hey, what games are you trying? Also, try the FAT32 guide. Had the same prob with my mum's pen drive. Formatted WBFS, games won't load. Formatted FAT32, it worked. Also try different USB loaders, eg. Wiiflow, CFG, and uLoader (uLoader works only with WBFS, not FAT32).
    Red Wii SysMenuX, Priiloader 0.7, Bootmii as IOS 254, USB Loader GX, uLoader 5.1E with external DVD drive, MauiFrog softmod. HBC 1.1, Backup HBC 1.0.3.

    games:
    super smash bros melee
    paper mario
    super mario galaxy 2
    new super mario
    mario kart
    i love the updated classics! and i've got a few zelda games too, just haven't ripped them yet as i'm quickly running out of space on my hard drives...

    tried cfg and wiiflow, no love.
    and tried loading the above games onto a few other (wbfs formatted) usb flash drives i had lying around and they worked just fine with the thumb drives.

    i've tried to format the hdd in fat 32 but it won't add games in my wbfs manager or ncWBFStool. using a fat32 formatted hdd, do i add .iso files, or .wbfs files to the drive? and if it's the wbfs files, how do i get them to from iso to wbfs without using a wbfs manager that can't see a fat32 drive?

    Go to this Link--->Fat32 Guide
    That link has all the information you are looking for. Just read it and you will have all your answers.

    You should get the Program Wii Game Manager, this will help put the games on your fat32 Hdd.(This program is also part of that Tut.)

    Alright, so following the guide, I formatted drive to fat32, and it works worse than before. Now the games don't even show up in the loaders (gx & cfg). They load up as if there were no usb drive installed! Tried formatting and loading games from both my Mac and PC, but it made no difference, so I re-formatted to wbfs and that brought me back to my original problem of games not loading...

    Are there any other recommendations from the community?

    Hmm..I'm surprised that didn't work!

    Do/Did you have the drive set to primary and active?
    When you had it opened with your Usb Loader did you set it to look for the fat32 drive?(Cause it will look for the old File system,Wbfs)
    Have a look at this. Link----> Blackscreens&freezes
