    wiimc black 4.3u functionality

Hello: I have a black 4.3u wii. modded with homebrew channel, homebrew browser, downloaded some apps. (duck hunt is fun but the ducks go way faster than on the original nintendo like they are ducks on energy drinks LOL )

Anyway did some research. I have seen it stated you can not play DVD on the newer black 4.3u wii that I have. Contradictory info states that if you load ios202 that the wiimc will allow me to do such a thing.

From what I understand Hermes uloader is the best way to load ios to the wii. Basically need a simplied concept of how to make this happen because I want to try it and my heads about to explode from the google quest ive been on. I understand the loading of a sd card on the pc then onto the wii. Just need the file info I should load and a quick summary

    Any thoughts would be appreciated.

You can't play backup games from DVD. Doesn't matter the loader you use.

uLoader is an outdated backup loader, it doesn't installs IOS. If you wish to install cIOS to play backup games run d2x cIOS installer from HBC to install.

Thank you Red_GhOst for the reply My end goal is to play a burned dvd movie on the wii. From what I gathered which very well could be or is wrong is that for the WIIMC to play my DVD I need to download IOS202. Could not locate d2x cIOS installer on the HBB

Basically I dont have disposable income for a New DVD player in my living room at this time. Getting tired of hauling my kids DVD player to and from thier room to watch a movie.

I got my computer linked to the wii with tightvnc server so I can control my computer from my 51" plasma using my wii remote (super cool) I would use that for watching a movie however the lag time sucks bad.. I wonder maybe if I eventually got a super fast top notch wifi router if the computer movie would display on my tv at normal speed threw my wifi router and wii. HMMMMM thinking out loud

Well if you want to waste your money then go ahead. I have a $250 Netgear Wireless router and the framerate is still like 5 FPS. It's just the nature of how the VNC protocol works. Plus how this app is kinda beta anyways.

You can always convert DVD's into .mp4's or something and put it on a USB drive and play it from WiiMC. (I recommend .mp4 due to it's universal nature)

put the movies on a hard drive and you will be all set. Wiimc reads all kinds of file formats. You can just use the iso if you want.

Awesome, Thanks again for the replys. I actually just figured out how to get games loaded onto a hard drive and play them. So I can store a lot of games. Just need to purchase the hard drive still. Putting the movies on them would be super easy as well.. Great Idea.

Just for reference. Playing a burned DVD on this black 4.3u wii is basically impossible ?
