Question Need a little help executing codes - AC:CF

    Hi there,

I'm very new to all of this, but I promise I'm not a total idiot. I got the Homebrew Channel installed on my own and I followed the very simple instructions I found here to get Gecko OS and all, which worked fine as far as I can tell.

I created a GCT file with the code manager using the Grass Code I found here, got it in the Wii, started up the Homebrew Channel, loaded the game through Gecko, watched while it told me that the codes were being applied, and then the game started up.

Now, the code on that page states that you have to 'save, quit, and play again for fcode effects to be noticed.' I understand this. I started the game with my little character, shuffled around for a few minutes and then saved the game. When I started it up, again, the grass in my town was the same as it had been, before. I quit and exited out of the game, completely, and re-loaded it in Gecko, again. The grass was still the same.

Am I doing something wrong? Will it not work until a 'day' has passed in my town? I noticed that the codes have 'controller codes' with them (for example, the one for the code I was using was Home + Plus + Minus + Z). Do I need to do something with this and I'm not and that's why it's not working?

    Please advise. Thanks in advance.

Sorry, but that really doesn't mean a thing to me since it apparently wasn't the method I was given of accomplishing this.

I'd really prefer not to do anything else to the save if I can help it, aside from what I'm already doing. As far as I know, thing method worked for another just fine... Is there something I'm doing wrong in my chosen method of executing the code?

You actually need to press the buttons together then save and reload.

So, I need to hold down the Home, Plus, Minus and Z buttons all at the same time. Then save, reload and it should have worked (if it doesn't, then I didn't press them all at the same time, correctly), does this sound correct?

Thank you, very much, for your response!
