Been a few years, have a corrupted message board and no clue how to fix!

    Hello all,

A few years ago I softmodded my Wii (4.2U) using... Bannerbomb I think? I followed a lovely guide on this website, and a few weeks later when it
started having problems, I was informed on this forum that it is the result of a corrupt message board and can be bypassed using
+ & - together. (See: http://www.wiihacks.com/bricked-wii-...ic-wisdom.html) This worked great, and when I did end up using my Wii on rare occasions during the past two years, I would just do the bypass.

However, I think it's time to finally fix it. I tried to access the guide posted in my original thread, but it's a dead link now, and I am totally out of the loop in terms of how to even start this process. I think my SD card has backup information (there were some optional steps to take at some point during the hack process?), but I'm not even sure what to look for.

Ideally, I would like to fix it and continue doing homebrew things. However, given that I now have an income and I don't really use my Wii too regularly, I would also be completely fine with simply removing the softmod altogether (particularly if this can be easily done). It would be nice to have the stability that comes with a normal non-modded Wii, as well as the ability to update and purchase VC titles.

At this point, what exactly are my options, and how difficult are they?

    Many thanks!

The link that is missing is to the Softmod ANY Wii guide. There is an updated link to it below in my sig.

Just format the system settings and your issue should be fixed. Have priiloader installed first.

Thanks for your quick reply! Just to make sure I remember correctly, I can launch Priiloader by holding reset when powering on? Do I format the system settings from Priiloader, or is this offered in the Nintendo system menu or some such?
