Cant load VC wads but wiiware wads work

I've looked for other threads on this issue but they remain unresolved.
I have softmodded my wii using the main guide and use Wad manager to install channels.
I have no problem installing them but when I try to run VC games, the screen goes black and the controller switches off.
    All wiiware games work fine.

I've tried loading from the main menu and from SD card. Im not sure about the region of the wads but my wii is set to region free.

    Any ideas?

Very helpful. Have you noticed what site we are on??

Anyway I have a massive collection of retro and wii games and I only want to play some of them on the wii through convenience.
Im not making that up either. I have over a thousand Nintendo ranging from the various consoles and still buy all the retail wii games I plan to run as backups.

Strange that you're able to play Wiiware titles just fine. There's always a more convenient way (and less disk space needed) and that's through the various excellent emulators.

    -Wii Menu 4.2U / DARKCORP v1.1 / BootMii as boot2 / Preloader v0.30-
    -USB HDD / Wiiflow 2.0 / Triiforce / VC Image-Pack / cIOS Wads-

You're going to want to take your collection of game WADs and install them to an emulated NAND on your HDD or SD with ShowMiiWADs.
I have installed about 15GB of VC/WiiWare this way and have been able to play most without issue using Mighty Channels.

Also, as suggested above, I also recommend using emulators for your classic game needs. There is more games available that way, anyhow.. plus the ability to save snapshots.

Thanks for the help. I will try the mighty channels out and if that doesnt work I'll get on the emulators.
