Problem loading and ripping games onto my flash drive, details inside.

Hey guys,

I modded my Wii according to Mauifrog's guide here on wiihacks. I have a 16GB SanDisk Cruzer flash drive, which is on the list here of devices that work with the Wii. However, I have formatted the drive multiple times using WBFS Manager as well as EASEUS Partition Manager and can't seem to get it to work. I have USBLoader GX, Wiiflow, and Configurable USB Loader, and have used all three to no avail. I can get anywhere from around 5% - 11% while ripping games before the program freezes. I also have some .wbfs files that I have placed onto the drive, and while the programs recognize the drive, it appears as if it has no games on it (the drive is currently NTFS formatted, although every other time I've formatted using FAT32). I've googled this problem many times and have found nothing similar enough to my problem. I would appreciate your help with this issue, you guys are great and know this stuff better than anyone else on the internet.

Have you tried re-ripping your games? How are you ripping them? Through a USB loader?

What type of files are your wii games? If you are using the FAT32 method, they need to be wbfs files, not iso.

I would recommend using the FAT32 method so let's try to get it sorted that way. I've used a Cruzer before and it works fine so your USB should definitely work.

OK, reformatted the drive to FAT32 and copied the games onto the drive using Wii Game Manager. Now I can see the games through my loaders, but when I try to boot them I get a black screen. Also, sometimes it freezes while in the loader. Thank you for your help BTW.

Have you tried installing the d2x cIOS pack? You may need a newer cIOS 249 or you may have a cIOS that is not working properly.

No I haven't, I'm downloading it right now. Can I put the files on my SD card without having to format it again?

Is there a "wad" folder on the root of your SD card? If not, create one.

When you download d2x, copy all the wad files into the folder I mentioned above.

Have you got a wad installer/manager installed? I recommend using Multi mod manager.

Install the wads using your manager and you should be good to go!

I have a wad folder on the SD card, but it is empty. I've put the d2x installer on my SD card, but I don't see any .wad files in that folder. I do have Multi Mod Manager, should I go ahead and run that?

Well it seems that you chose to download the d2x installer.

Don't use that (I don't recommend it because I like doing things manually) and, instead, download the wads.

I don't know if you are using the d2x guide on this site, but if you are do option 2 - that will have the wads.

OK, I placed the wads in the wad folder, and attempted to install them using Multi Mod Manager, but it said they all failed.

Try starting up MMM, and clicking on "load another iOS". Then choose 249.

Now try installing the wads.
