Yes I think I'll need to post this on another thread as you say. I strongly suspect that overwriting the custom MIOS will prevent me from playing backup games as this is probably what the custom MIOS was written for.

Glad your issue worked out though

    Hi Eternalpessimist,

I just wanted to be absolutely sure of something. Could I just ask :

Did the border problem you were having refer to borders to the left and right of the screen or at the top/bottom of the screen?

If it was on the left/right, have you now got absolutely no borders to the left/right of the screen with all games?

It would be really helpful to know this as I am having quite a bit of trouble sorting this out

    Cheers, Andy

I think I understand actually - I think you must have been talking about borders at the top and bottom of the screen as you mentioned 50hz mode - am I right about this ?

I do get full screen now. The border at the top and bottom were caused by the GC forcing the game into 50hz. As for borders left and right, I suppose you could say I get literally a few millimetres either side of the screen. On Paper Mario it's barely anything at all, and on Harvest Moon it is perhaps ever-so-slightly noticeable, but I feel they are supposed to be there, as the display itself looks fine. Don't forget that most GC games are 4:3 in ratio, and not widescreen like practically every Wii game, so if you are connected to a 16:9 display, change the ratio on your telly, and see how it looks then.

Have you managed to ride yourself of top and bottom borders at least?

See above. I was - is your problem more to do with borders left and right?
