SD running GameCube backups is really slow

Sorry if this isn't the right section to post this but I have an ADATA 8gb class10 SDHC card in hopes to boost up load times for my GameCube games, but the load times are still REALLY slow. Is it my SD card being cheap or could it be the wii sd card reader?

On the computer, the write speed is 3MB/s compared to the promised 15MB/s on the ADATA website. I bought the card from a trusted retailer so it has to be genuine, right?

I'm using Configuable USB Loader mod 22 to load my games. All my wii games on the harddrive load fine.

If it is just the card being terrible, what SD card do you recommend for good GameCube backup loading on the wii? Thanks

Gamecube loading from the SD card is still buggy. Not all games will even work.

I don't know what games u are running, but I would lean towards the compatibility being the issue. I think disc loading GC games is still the fastest.

I was running Wind Waker, the actual game play is fine but it's just the loading takes forever. Will a faster SD card help? This has a really slow speed my computer too.
I wish I can run backups using discs but I have a newer wii so that's not really an option :/

Yes, I think a better brand SD card might have faster loading times. Some brands exaggerate the speed for sales.
I think there is a program to test the read and write speeds of your card.

But just saying don't expect the world from all games. Some are glitchy or won't work at all.

I found a program to test the speed of the SD card.

    Writing speed: 8.54 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 14.9 MByte/s

Not bad, but I was kind of expecting more out of a class 10 :S

And yep, I understand that it's very buggy. Still doing very well considering that this has only been around for about three months. Thanks!

I bought one and was disappointed,I even tried the class 10 thing and it was still slow.

Its better just to get a Wii at the pawnshop since it now supports full speed gamecube off usb.

The Wii is so much easier to mod, and with it getting cheaper I see no reason why to mess with the actual cube anymore except for the controllers/mem card
