USB Loader loads to black screen with Super Mario Galaxy 2

After softmodding my PAL WII using mauifrog's guide. I tried loading an NTSC copy of Super Mario Galaxy 2 with usb loader gx and config usb loader with no succsess. Followed the Super Mario Galaxy 2 guide and updated ios56 and followed the " what to do if a game is not working" guide and tried ios 224. The screen goes black and the remotes don't work. Have to hold down pwr button to get it to switch off.

So once you click on the game, you get a black screen instantly?

If u followed the softmod any wii guide then its is either a hard drive problem or a bad rip, if all your other games work then it is likely a bad rip.

Thanks for all the great replies. New Super Mario(pal) runs perfectly. System Menu is showing up as 4.1e even though I updated it to 4.3 before softmodding. Will try to update it and see if it helps.

Why update? cIOSs will allow you to play your games without needing to update - so why waste the effort you put into softmodding your wii?

I just don't understand how you can just "give up" and update. I'm sorry if I'm being abrupt, but it's the truth
