    usb loader gx ripping problem

I am using usb loader gx and have saved just over 50 games(some were over 4 GB) from disc to my WD mypassport essential ext 320 GB HD but now I am having an odd issue. When I try to rip some larger games like Mario Kart(2.59 GB) and Broken Sword(3.69 GB) using usb loader gx they get about 80% complete and then the rip starts slowing down with some odd numbers flashing on the screen and then they end up showing complete after a couple more percent yet they did not make it to 100%. I am not having any problems ripping some smaller games right now so I'm not sure what could be causing this. When I click on some games now in usb loader to play them it is taking longer now for the disc to appear and previously I was able to play all of my games from HD but now some of them are not working as well but I haven't tried all of them again. This all started a few days back when I was working on getting a kids game, Jump Start Pet Rescue, to play for my daughter and I got some kind of screen dump. Could that have corrupted one of my IOS/cIOS or is there something else that you think could have all of the sudden caused this? Thanks for any help you can provide as this has been giving me fits trying to resolve it.

    What revision are you using?
    WBFS, FAT32 or NTFS?
    What cIOS' are installed?
What did you do when trying to get the Jump Start Pet Rescue to play? Did you change the boot ios in global settings?

Development on usb loader gx has slowed right down. You might want to look at trying another loader. Eg, Configurable. You can use it along side gx

I formatted my ext HD with WBFS with no partition so I believe that makes it NTFS.
I ripped Jump Start but then when playing it from HD it tried to load but then kept rebooting to the wii menu. I read in some threads that you can try to play a game from disc first and then try the HD again so I did that and when the game then tried to load from HD I got some kind of system dump message. The problems ripping some discs only started after that whether or not that was the actual cause I couldn't say. I then tried to change the boot ios settings for that game only but it still won't load.

I tried to use configurable loader yesterday but when I launch it I just see my games and nothing else which indicates I can rip any games.

As for the revision and cIOS, this is what syscheck shows. Whether I am running the right version or not I am not sure exactly how all that works yet.

When configurable loads, press the B button to bring up options. Then + will install games.
The cIOS' you are running should be compatible with configurable USB loader with either cIOS 249 or 222 as boot.

Another thought is that the WBFS partition may have become corrupted and starting over may be an option (Try others first)

Thanks for the help with configurable usb loader, I will give it a try. I had thought about and issue with the WBFS partition but hope that's not the issue as I don't want to try to restore all the games again unless there is an easy way to save them off to my pc first.

So I tried to rip Mario Kart to my ext HD but similar thing happened as what was occurring with usb loader gx. It worked fine up to 78% and then started having read error problems. I am almost certain it is not the disc as Broken Sword has the same problem yet I am having no problems ripping smaller games that only take a few mins rather than 10 or so for larger games like Mario Kart. It very well could be a problem with my ext hd. Does anyone know of an easy or the easiest way to backup my games on my WD ext hd. I am thinking the only way is to format another ext hd w/ WBFS mgr, copy the games from the WD hd I am using now to another hd, reformat the WD hd and then finally copy the games back to the WD hd. I don't even know if that is possible but I have a Buffalo ext hd that I currently am using but could use it for this if necessary. Does anyone know if this would work as a way of formatting my WD hd without losing my ripped games?

you could clone the whole wbfs drive-A to another wbfs drive-B, with wbfs-manager-v3

if u've drive-A in ntfs and drive-B in wbfs, may be Wii-Backup-Manager to select and copy wbfs files. (p.s. not sure as i don't use it this way. )
