    MH3 not working using cIOS 223 (IOS 37 + 38 merged)

    Hello everyone,

A friend of mine had a problem running MH3 (it works fine on my wii). So, I decided to help him, and followed the instructions of this guide: Monster Hunter 3 Tri.

I did exactly what the guide said, and the game did not work. So I tried installing IOS 55 v5149. Still no luck. After trying to load it several times, it suddenly worked. We made a character and then I returned to the wii menu, tried again and... it didn't work anymore

So, I decided to search around a bit, and found this post: Game Still Doesn't Work?. I read it carefully, and made sure my USB device is compatible (it loads other games fine), was set up correctly, made sure the region settings were correct, made sue the correct IOS's were installed. It still didn't work.

How can I get it to work?

    Technical info:
    =========
    cIOS: cIOSX rev19 (base IOS 57) and cIOS223 (IOS 37 + 38 merged)
    System menu: 4.1
    Relevant IOS's: IOS 55 (v5149)
USB Loader: USB Loader GX (latest stable version)

follow this guide, I found this guide here on wiihacks And it work for me.. I take no credit for this guide and not sure who did it, I copy and saved to my computer.

    Download this: Hermes_cIOS222_223_installer_3.0_(rev4).zip
Extract / copy it to your apps directory on your SD card.
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer
Read the warning message and push A
Select IOS249 to perform the install with D-pad left/right and push A
Select to Install Custom IOS 222 and select IOS38 merged with IOS37
Wait for download and installation to complete
Start HomeBrew Channel and start the cIOS 222 Installer again
Select IOS249 to perform the install again
This time select Custom IOS 223 and select merge with IOS38 and IOS37.
In your USB loader, make sure to load with CIOS223 when you're booting the game.

Start the game up with your favorite USB loader and play!

If the game fail boot, play around with the options like "error fix 002" and "force NTSC".

    good luck and have fun

I think what`s missing here is that you need to use IOS223 v5 not v4. Works for me.

    Lightbulb Modify USB loader setting

I had the same problem . Would only load up to the "load game" and that awful sound comes on. Then I realized I did not change the game setting in USB loader GX. When you load USB loader GX , select the game , go to setting and scroll down to CIOS and change it to CIOS223 and save. After saving, click and start game, no more noise. Finally worked for me..

Please keep all mh3 questions in the guide for that game. Extra threads just clutter the site.
