    still problems

    >Jerseywii---hey i would def go with a terabyte drive although i work in IT dept and have tons of drives laying around going to waste that i would like to use versus purchasing something. I bought a 3.5 ide external drive enclosure at microcenter and put my WD Caviar SE 250GB drive in. Now when i try to load wads from the desktop neogamma or usb gx loader it says waiting on drive and the countdown begins although nothing ever loads. I am plugged into the correct usb port as well i have made that mistake many times in the past.

    >theniemann---from what you posted sounds like you are using a disk to play the new mario i would reccommend using an external usb hard drive to play your games as everything loads faster and you wont have to deal with wear and tear on your dvds.

Sounds like ur drive isn't getting power....I've accidently not turned on my external and had that happen a few times. make sure the legacy power is firmly in OR the sata power source is firmly plugged in...

You might want to try using another brand HD as well. As much as everyone praises WD I can pretty much prove their uselessness with some simple QA tests...it only takes stomping your feet next to the table your WD Hard drive is on to sometimes corrupt the drive...also, my companies IT guy (and I work for an IT firm) will validate this. Over 50% of corrupt hard drives he replaces are WD...
Give me a thanks if anything i said was useful or you found it remotely intuitive

    All games eventually get the
    "An error has occured.
Press the EJECT Button, remove the Disc,
and turn off the power to the console.
Please refer to the Wii Operations Manual for details."

There is no difference between a new lacie 500gig hd or a 15 year old 13gig ibm quantum fireball, it is not hardware related.(tried both, the old hd has never heard of pwr management...)

Must be either neogamma error or something with the iso's.
The game im mainly testing is NSMB.

jerseywii hey i switched my hd out and put in a different one and it seems to have resolved my freezing problem. Although i still seem to have a deeper underlying issue. When i try to play some games they simply refuse to boot. For example i have tried to play avatar astroboy tatsunoko vs capcom nfspeed carbon and a set of other isos and they refuse to open in either neogamma or usb gx loader all i receive is a black screen. Any suggestions?

Needyguy doesnt look like you have read alot up on this yet. maybe you should have read the whole post before quickly commenting and making yourself look dumb. For one there is a harddrive hardware compatibility list located somewhere on the forum. Two i have used 2 different drives and have received different results with both. I would just go back and double check all of the tutorial forums to see if you skipped over a step or maybe try another app to boot iso's or verify that you are using the correct usb port on your wii.
