Mario Kart Wii

Hey guys!

I softmodded my Wii a couple days ago to save money, because Wii games are just too expensive.

I've had 3 games work so far; New Super Mario Brothers, Punch Out, and Warioware: Smooth Moves.

I'm using NeoGamma as my backup launcher, and I have rev14.

My wii is on 4.1U, or 4.0U, I'm unsure of which, as I was not the one to actually mod it.

My issue with Mario Kart Wii is that I downloaded a scrubbed version from another website (if I'm allowed to post it here I will), and I extracted it, burned it with PowerISO at 2x speed, and all that worked fine. I downloaded it from Megaupload with jDownloader.

Now I go to NeoGamma, launch game from DvD and the health screen comes up, telling me to watch what I knock over and stuff. And then when I press A, the screen turns black. My Wii is still online, and the remote is still connected.

Could anyone be of assistance please? :)

I'm sorry if my post seems a little bit mixed up, but I've been typing information as it comes to my head.

Someone correct me if I am wrong but I dont think your wii can play scrubbed games.

I doubt that be the case. There shouldn't be anything stopping the wii from loading Scrubs either. Could be one of two causes:

1. Bad burn

2. Bad iso

Re-burn the iso on high quality DVD-R at low speeds. Verbatim DVD-R at 2.4x or 4x is recommended. If its still the same results, download the .iso from a better source, maybe a private tracker.

Oh so your saying that eventhough I am using 3.2 firmware and all my burns are scrubbed copies, If I were to upgrade my firmware, I would still be able to use those games?

Yes, remember, Games do not depend on system menus to run. It just needs a specific IOS and you're good to go. The only reason why you're still prompted for an update when the needed IOS is up to date is because the disc update contains several other IOS and/or a system menu higher than you're cureent

Well I already knew about that actually but for some reason I thought the older firmwares didnt need trucha and thus could play scrubbed games. Please correct me If I am wrong.
