How did you guys even get the game to come up in the first place??

I just decided to rip the kids SSBB onto my USB drive through USBLoader GX (newest downloadable update) and when I start it I just get a black screen and thats it.

Because of spindown problems with my harddrive its already set to IOS222 in the Game Load Settings. Ive tried it as well with 223 same deal. It ripped fine, although seemed really quick for a 5+gb DVD, just wont even show me a splash screen or anything..

I dunno... It works ok except for those errors on the end of Classic mode and the first battle of Subspace emissary adventure mode. I'm using a disk that so far seems to be the DVD9 version, but none of the USB loaders I've tried seem to do anything with the custom IOS I've installed. I must be missing something. Is there any other USB loaders I can try loading the disk from and see if it works?

    Thanks in advance,
    Luxie~

I have this problem as well, at the same point, only difference is I am playing it from USB Loader GX and WiiFlow instead of burning it to disc ( I have no intention of burning it either. Dual layer is a pain in the arse I'm not going to deal with. ) but like the other 2 I also get the Eject Disc read manual blah blah blah.... some solutions would be nice.

As far as I know, USB loading should work with Hermes cIOS 222/223 rev 4 and USB Loader GX if you're playing from USB. You should set the game settings to IOS 222 (or 223). And block IOS reload...

Not sure if you have to use error 002 fix or not, test both. For me it makes no difference but I'm playing from disc. I've heard it fixes the problem if you play from USB drive...

Any help to my problem is still wanted and appreciated if anyone out there knows what to do. Thanks in advance.

that did it. Thanks Luxie. Now I'm trying to figure out how to get Cabella's Big Game Hunter 2010 to work. Maybe I'll try this method as well but I doubt it would work since its a new game and SSBB is a few years old now. Very cool game though.

Glad to see it worked for you. I bought another burnt copy of the game at a different place to rule out a bad dump or burn. But so far tests have done nothing to this game, same error in same spot. I am thinking this has to do with my wii particularly.

If someone has any idea on getting this game to run from DVD it would be much appreciated. I don't want to spend in an usb stick yet just to play SSBB. Although maybe I should. Thanks in advance.

You truly did. I am sorry. I've looked at so much information regarding this that I don't even remember right off the bat who said what... I guess I'm going crazy. Luckily I got Zelda Twilight Princess to keep me occupied for some time...

Until someone comes with an idea on how to make brawl work. Or until I can spend money on an 8gb stick or an external drive. But there must be a way to load it from disc, I know it!

If anyone has made this game work, could they post their setup? Not from USB drives, but from DVD. Maybe if I attempt using known working configurations I'll be lucky, eventually.

    Thanks in advance guys.

Reporting back some light on the issue. I just loaded Metroid Prime Trilogy on my wii. Used Neogamma R8 rev 15. I had to create a save file first without .dol. And then select one of the .dol files from the disc to start the respective game directly.

Reason I post this is because I've read somewhere (while getting MPT to work) that this game was double layer as well. Apparently the layer break would be the same (or similar?) to that of SSBB. And if the disc was broken, Metroid Prime: Corruption (MP3) would give an "eject disc" error (like SSBB). So, if all of this is true, it would rule out a double-layer read problem for my wii. Leaving me with the question at hand, about an effective loading method for SSBB.

Hope this helps finding a solution.

    Still puzzled,
    Luxie~
