Hmm, I definitely installed them. Should I install the 4.1 menu from the guide and then install the IOSupdate wads again?

No, was seeking confirmation if you did. As to black screens and so forth, did you try a different device? Also, you did wipe and install the app pack (with all the loaders) to the SD card you're utilizing, right?

Yeah I format the drive and put those on, otherwise the apps wouldnt even run i think.

So all the hacks on my wii should be fine? Well maybe it is a problem with the usb/files themselves then. Is it ok btw to use a usb stick instead of a HDD?

Most loaders don't support sticks. Like I said, try a different USB device. It may be a compatibility issue.

Tried a different hard drive, and makes no difference. I guess they're just bad ISOs or not copying correctly to the HDD. Or are there any other options?

Did you try change cios base in the usb loader? If you are trying play japanese games, you must set japanese (language) in the usbloader

Try re-ripping the game off of the game disk to ensure a quality rip. Have you checked our FAT32 and NTFS guides for other tips on how to install games?

I am currently transfering from Wii Backup Manager onto a NTFS drive. Is there any real difference between using FAT/NTFS/WBFS? All the hd/usb I'm using should be compatible btw. At least according to the compatibility list.

And about changing the cios, is that in the app itself or in the config file? Which ones are recommended?

Most of us would recommend FAT32 as it is most compatible with other apps. There is the 4gig limit per file, but the current USB loaders can work around that by splitting the file into multiple files once installed on the hard drive and read them properly in real time.

If you are talking about specific games running on a different cIOS than default (like 250 for Just Dance 2014), then that is a setting in the USB Loader for the one particular game so that other games can be run on the default cIOS and other games can run on 233, 250, etc. as needed. That variation is on a game-by-game basis.

Check out the FAT32 guide linked in my signature for more information on how to format the drive and install the games.

Hmm, ok. Everytime I format the drive I do it either with the backup manager or the default windows format app. Does this matter, or should I definitely use the app in the guide (Easeus)?

So from my syscheck everything should be ok right? I feel as though I'm clutching at straws here

Thanks for the great, and fast help btw.

Edit: tried games now on several different HDD/USB and it still keeps failing.
