Which cIOS to use for Mario Party 9? (black screening)

First off I'm new here so hey guys :)

I'm having an issue with Mario Party 9 using CFG USB Loader v70.

Every time I load the game it gives me a black screen. I suspected it to be an cIOS issue so I Googled around and looked on this forum for which cIOS to use. I came across this link but it isn't working for me. http://www.wiihacks.com/recommended-...s-use-run.html :mad:

I've tried a multitude of different cIOSes including hermes 222/223/224 Waninkoko (various revisions. I can't remember them all) and d2x, all using various bases and revisions so far to no avail.

I've also tried re-dumping the game from my original, which hasn't worked. Oh and let me know if you need a report of all the current cIOSes I have installed right now, even though they don't work with the game anyway.

If you can shed any light on this problem I'd greatly appreciate it. :confused:

so we can take a look what's installed on your wii. Use syscheck 2.0.1 beta17.

Also, have you tried a different loader? Like USB Loader GX, or Wiiflow?

Probably not your cios, that game probably runs on all of those cios. Change the language setting in the loader to system or disc, try to force your video, try a new iso dump.

update your cios with the softmod any wii guide linked in my signature, then use 249 to run the game. You should have no problems after that. Not sure how you ended up with a cios with an 80 base????

The cIOS I have in 249 is the one I use to run Monster Hunter 3, I need that one or it won't work. The one in 247 is specific to MW3, or again it won't work, and 248 I use to run everything else which works just fine. I figured base 80 was a more recent version, there wasn't that much documentation on which to use, other than this -->OUTSIDE LINK REMOVED I've also tried base 56 and 57 as specified here but they don't work either for MP9.

Follow the guide or not, your call. That game should run well on a properly modded wii.

Hi guys, sorry I didn't reply sooner, ended up going to hospital with my asthma :(

I've decided not to follow the guide because it appears to modify a lot of the lower number IOSes which I've heard can brick your wii, not through the guide being flawed or anything but in case you lose power, which happens a lot where I live, and I'm not prepared to take the risk just to play MP9 from a hard drive when I already own a copy on disk lol.

i.m using 4.3 softmode PAL
update al my cios with modmii
after i put mario party 9 on my hdd i launch it with cfg v70 249
i try every ios. i try it with a ntsc and pal version.
both versions give me a black screen after i puss start at the usb loader. i try different setting force ntsc
nothing is working. what do i do wrong?

It works fine for me on cios249 base56 d2x v7. With cfg v70 via default options. Your iso is probably bad.
