Technom8ts Guide : LOAD NSMB FROM DISC ON A SOFTMODDED WII ( NO MODCHIP REQUIRED )

I have managed to load my NSMB backup from disc via Neogama R8 Beta 7.

This is what you need :
    Cios_REV15 installed
1x DVD-R (With NSMB burnt to it at 2.4 speed )
1x DVD+R book typed to DVD-ROM (With NSMB burnt to it at 2.4 speed )

PLEASE NOTE YOU HAVE TO BURN THE NSMB IMAGE THAT HAS BEEN PATCHED WITH THE EDITED MAIN.DOL ( REMOVED COPY PROTECTION )

Now heres how to load it via Neogamma :

First put your NSMB DVD+R into your wii
Load up Neogama R8 Beta 7
Load from Disc, and wait for the error message.
Eject your DVD from the wii once the error appears and now insert the DVD-R
Your NSMB game will now load.

I am using PAL Wii on 4.1E with Cios_REV15. I have not had any errors while playing the game this way as of yet, you can try it out and see how you get on. This will be usefull for those of you who can not boot from USB for 1 reason or another.

here is a vid as proof :

EDIT : You can burn the DVD+R at X20 speed and the game will load sometimes without the disc swap, but i encountered game freezes and black screens evry time i tried it this way.

rev15 is crap, i really wouldnt recommend using it tbh. It breaks more than it fixes.

Seems like a lot of hassle when you could just use an SD card or USB stick.

i agree, but for those who are having problems loading via SD/USB this ma an option, as you can see by the vid the whole process taked 1 and a half minutes, not to bad for those who really want to play the game

Well done technom8t credit where its due, its always good to find another alternative method just in case. I for one can play NSMB off the usb but I am looking for another way, The reason is this I have done many wiis and for all of them to get a USB when I can burn a couple of copies is a lot easier.

Can I ask you say that you need rev15 have you tried your trick with rev 14 I too am not a big fan of rev15, installed it today and found that I can no longer play games that once worked

    Thanks

Unfortunetly i couldn't get the disc error using REV14, which inturn wouldn't allow the disc swap, but you could give it a go and see what happens......

see i don't have a problem with REV15 as i dont use backuplaunchers, im on Cioscorp, so i dont really see all the problems people are on about.....good luck.

It's interesting to see that there are quite a few ways of getting things to work using the info supplied in these forums. Some of it works for some people but not for others!!
I for one got NSMB to work from disc following Davepm's superb guide. And I'm now running with PAL Ver 4.2E , Neogamma R7 ios249 (rev14).
    Wii 4.2E PAL Softmod
    WiiFlow 2.2

    Latest game KRG
