I haven't used XP for years so I wouldn't remember that. IE is not required for anything and should be uninstalled immediately
    Damn I suck!!!!

I know at one time (including XP and probably still does) there was a "corporate type" update microsoft where you could manually select the updates you wanted (save them on the disc, load/run later). That put it on you, the user, to properly identify the updates as applying to your system.

Not sure I follow? "Years" as in a length of time...lol

Yes I use Linux now and Win7.

Oh and IE is a resource hog. No need to do things slower than I can with FF.

Wasn't disagreeing, I just knew Win7 hasn't been out for years and most folks shun Vista (my laptop here, for example) and figured you for a Linux user. No, I haven't kept up with this thread lol.

Without IE7Pro (which also works on IE8 btw), I don't like Internet Explorer. I use IE most of the time, but keep FF as a backup if IE doesn't load a site properly. It is just a personal preference, so please don't start listing all the things I am "missing out on."

Ahh yes, misunderstood. I used vista for a short time as well.

I have been dual booting Linux and windows for a while now...I try to stick to Linux but always end up booting into win7 for something

@joostin, didn't plan on it. I simply said it's a resource hog and you can figure that out for yourself I often have multiple things happening on my PC at once so I try to keep everything as "lite" as possible.

You know what I use? Most of the time, Google Chrome.
It's fast, with no bells and whistles; just what I want.

By the way, Krank, if you have a reasonable processor and a good set of RAM, you will not notice the difference between FireFox and Internet Explorer, even if you're a multi-tasker.
